Solstice welcomes the Government’s commitment to reinstating and integrating counselling services for young people.

As our Managing Director, Kelly Madeiros, shared in today’s Royal Gazette, prevention works. Early access to counselling reduces the likelihood that manageable challenges escalate into crisis — strengthening families, schools and our wider community.

Implementation will be key. Services must be co-ordinated, accessible and free from unnecessary barriers.

At Solstice, we remain committed to working collaboratively to build a more preventive and responsive mental health system for Bermuda.

Solstice was proud to take part in the recent Community Programmes Career Fair hosted by .

Our team had the opportunity to engage directly with students, sharing insights about careers in healthcare, the importance of mental health support, and the many pathways available within Bermuda’s health and wellbeing sector. We were encouraged by the thoughtful questions, curiosity and enthusiasm shown by the young people who stopped by.

At Solstice, we believe conversations like these matter. They help young people understand what’s possible — and the practical steps they can take to move toward their goals.

We’re committed to supporting youth development across Bermuda and are grateful to partner with organisations creating meaningful opportunities for connection, learning and growth.

📰 We’re grateful to see this important conversation highlighted in the Royal Gazette. 🙏

At Solstice, we know that early assessment and thoughtful support can make a meaningful difference in a child’s life. As awareness of autism and neurodiversity grows in Bermuda, so too does the need for timely, qualified, evidence-based care.
Access matters. Coordination matters. Expertise matters.
We remain committed to working alongside families, schools and healthcare partners to ensure children and adults receive the support they deserve — without unnecessary delay.
If you have questions about assessments or services, our team is here to help.

Couples Therapy is a form of therapy that aims to help those in relationships address a wider range of issues including recurring conflicts, I infidelity, sexual functioning, feelings of
disconnection and much more. Couples therapy can be helpful at any stage of the relationship and Solstice is open to supporting
couples of any marital status, age or sexual orientation.
Couples Therapy specifically aims to explore
the relationship that each couple shares
between each other. It is an opportunity to
engage in a process of doing an inventory of your relationship. Couples work typically involves exploring conflicts, understanding
how behaviors and patterns affect the other, and how this may contribute to the dynamin between the couple. Importantly, couples therapy supports the couple to learn new tools
in order to resolve conflict, reconnect and
thrive.

Couples work often incorporates a strengths based approach, looking at the strengths of the relationship and the qualities that attracted each other. These strengths are important and
at the core of the foundation of a couple. Areas that require the couple to work on are also identified in order to develop into a strength for self and the relationship foundation. Finally,
areas of conflict or particular difficulty are identified and explored during couples therapy. During periods of conflict couples can
be reactive, impulsive, and can do or say things they regret which can be destructive for the individuals and the couple. During couples therapy these conflicts are explored in a safe,
compassionate and solution-focused way inorder to understand the causes as well as planways to successfully navigate towards helpful outcomes and resolution.
