Grand Opening for the newest Vinmec Health Care System hospital in Vietnam! Can Tho city is lucky to have such a modern facility to improve health care for its population! And I am very proud to be there this week, seeing patients in their first working days! I am sure that in a few months this hospital will the most important reference hospital in the Province!

🇧🇷 Carnaval no Brasil x Tết no Vietnã! 🇻🇳

O Brasil está em festa com o 🎭, enquanto no Vietnã estamos ainda sentindo o impacto do Tết 🐲! Mas o que é o ?

Tết Nguyên Đán é o Ano Novo Lunar vietnamita e o feriado mais importante do país! Ele marca um novo ciclo, trazendo sorte, renovação e muito simbolismo. Este será o ano da serpente. Durante essa época:

🌿 As casas são limpas para afastar a má sorte e abrir espaço para boas energias.

🎁 As famílias se reúnem, trocam envelopes vermelhos com dinheiro (Lì xì) e fazem oferendas aos ancestrais.

🍚 A comida é super tradicional, com pratos como Bánh chưng (um bolo de arroz recheado, símbolo da terra e gratidão).

🚗 Milhões de pessoas viajam para passar o feriado com a família, fazendo as cidades grandes ficarem quase vazias!

Já o Carnaval no Brasil é pura festa, blocos de rua, samba, fantasias e aquela energia vibrante que só a gente tem! 🔥

Mas no fim, tanto o Tết quanto o Carnaval são momentos de pausa para celebrar a vida, cada um do seu jeito. 🌎

Carnival in Brazil vs. Tết in Vietnam! ✨
Brazil is in full party mode with Carnival 🥳, while in Vietnam we’re still feeling the aftereffects of Tết 🌸! But what exactly is Tết?

Tết Nguyên Đán, is the Vietnamese Lunar New Year—the most important holiday here! It marks a fresh start, bringing luck, renewal, and deep symbolism. During this time:

🌿 Houses are cleaned to sweep away bad luck and welcome good fortune.

🎁 Families gather, exchange red envelopes with money (Lì xì), and make offerings to ancestors.

🍚 Traditional foods are everywhere, like Bánh chưng, a sticky rice cake symbolizing gratitude and the earth.

🚗 Millions travel back home to celebrate with family, making big cities feel almost empty!

Meanwhile, Carnival in Brazil is all about street parties, samba, costumes, and that one-of-a-kind vibrant energy! 🔥

But in the end, both Tết and Carnival are moments to pause and celebrate life—just in different ways. ✨

Caso de Sucesso: Tratamento Simultâneo de Câncer de Mama e Cólon - 13 horas de operação

🎗️ A paciente N.T.K.A, de 59 anos, residente em Long An, enfrentou um desafio único: a remoção de tumores na mama e no cólon em uma única cirurgia no Hospital Vinmec Central Park.

🎗️ Em 2023, ela foi diagnosticada com um tumor mamário em outro hospital e foi orientada a apenas monitorá-lo. Um ano depois, ao notar aumento do inchaço, procurou o Centro de Câncer do Vinmec Central Park, onde confirmou o câncer de mama em estágio inicial. Durante exames detalhados, uma tomografia revelou um segundo câncer no cólon.

🎗️Para evitar riscos e minimizar o tempo de espera, a equipe médica decidiu por uma abordagem inovadora: realizar uma única anestesia geral para remover ambos os tumores em uma operação de 13 horas. Essa decisão exigiu a coordenação entre o Centro de Oncologia e o Centro Digestivo, além de uma equipe de anestesia experiente e um plano de tratamento detalhado com protocolos ERAS e abordagem multidisciplinar.

🎗️ A cirurgia foi um sucesso, e a paciente recebeu alta após seis dias. Agora, ela segue com um plano de tratamento personalizado para continuar sua recuperação.

🎗️ Os especialistas do Centro de Oncologia do Vinmec destacam a importância do diagnóstico precoce para melhores resultados.
Em novembro de 2024, o Vinmec, através da campanha Cor da Esperança, promove a conscientização sobre o câncer, com clínicas gratuitas de triagem e diagnóstico para a comunidade.

Success Story: Simultaneous Breast and Colon Cancer Surgery, in a 13-hours operation taskforce

🎗️ Patient N.T.K.A, aged 59 from Long An, faced an exceptional case involving the removal of breast and colon tumors in a single surgery at Vinmec Central Park Hospital.

🎗️ In 2023, she was diagnosed with a breast tumor at another hospital but was advised only to monitor it. A year later, after noticing swelling, she visited Vinmec Central Park’s Cancer Center and was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. A CT scan revealed a second, unexpected colon cancer.

🎗️ To minimize risk and reduce waiting time, the medical team opted for an innovative approach: a single general anesthesia for the simultaneous removal of both tumors during a 13-hour surgery. This complex procedure required coordination between the Oncology and Digestive Centers, a skilled anesthesia team, and a comprehensive plan including ERAS protocols and a multidisciplinary strategy.

🎗️ The surgery was successful, and the patient was discharged after six days. She is now following a personalized treatment plan to continue her recovery.

🎗️ Vinmec’s Oncology experts emphasize that early diagnosis leads to more effective treatment.
In November 2024, Vinmec’s Color of Hope campaign will offer free cancer screening and diagnostics to raise awareness and support the community.

Tive o privilégio recente de apresentar uma aula sobre o tratamento multimodal do lipossarcoma desdiferenciado em membros, na conferência organizada pela .health.care.system.

Oportunidade inacreditável de ombrear com o grande Prof Hiroyuki Tsuchiya, do Hospital Yokohama Sakae Kyosai, do Japão, autor de mais de mil artigos publicados e uma das maiores experiências no mundo na técnica de congelação óssea em osteosarcomas.

Agradeço à Vinmec pela confiança em meu trabalho e seguimos em frente, colaborando e mantendo o grupo como a maior referência em sarcomas ósseos e de partes moles no Vietnam.

I recently had the privilege of presenting a lecture on the multimodal management of dedifferentiated liposarcoma in the limbs in a conference organized by Vinmec in Hanoi.

It was an incredible opportunity to stand alongside the great Prof. Hiroyuki Tsuchiya from Yokohama Sakae Kyosai Hospital in Japan. he is the author of over a thousand published articles and one of the world’s leading experts in the bone-freezing technique for osteosarcomas.

I am grateful to Vinmec for their trust in my work, let’s keep it up, collaborating to establish the group as the top reference for bone and soft tissue sarcomas in Vietnam.
