Angie Archer-Collie Honoured by the Commonwealth of the Bahamas - Recognition on the 52nd Anniversary of Independence

Reverend Charles Carey, Superintendent of the Abaco District of the Methodist Church of the Bahamas said: In a moment of pride and celebration, the Aldersgate Methodist family extends our heartfelt congratulations to Angie Collie on being honoured by the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, being awarded Distinguished Service Medal . This distinguished recognition comes as the nation commemorates its 52nd Anniversary of Independence, marking more than half a century of sovereignty, progress, and cultural vibrancy.
Angie Collie has distinguished herself as a youth leader, serving as Captain of the First Abaco Company of the Girl’s Brigade. Trained in medical laboratory services, she has worked alongside local doctors in Marsh Harbour, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to community health. Angie is also the founder and President of Auskell Medical Centre, a facility that brings specialized medical care directly to the residents of Abaco, eliminating the need for expensive and time-consuming travel to New Providence.
In addition to her professional and community achievements, Angie serves faithfully as Church Steward of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Marsh Harbour. She provided compassionate service following Hurricane Dorian, organizing food and clothing distribution to support those in need during a time of great hardship.
Her exemplary contributions and unwavering dedication have not gone unnoticed. By receiving this esteemed honour, Angie joins the ranks of those whose efforts and achievements have significantly enriched the Bahamian community and inspired others across the Commonwealth.
Angie Collie is supported by her devoted husband, retired Police Sergeant Perkins Collie. She is the proud mother of Perkell Collie and Austin Collie, both of whom are currently furthering their studies abroad. Angie is also the daughter of the late Captain Garnett and Vyrona Archer, from whom she draws deep inspiration and guidance.
The 52nd Anniversary of Independence is a time to reflect not only on the nation’s remarkable journey but also to applaud individuals like Angie Collie, whose service and commitment continue to advance the spirit of unity, excellence, and national pride.
We celebrate Angie Collie’s well-deserved recognition and wish her continued success in her future endeavours. May this honour serve as a lasting symbol of appreciation and an inspiration for all who strive to make a meaningful impact in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and beyond.
