BAHAMAS COVID-19 DAILY UPDATE: There were no new cases of COVID-19 reported in The Bahamas today.

Also, no prior cases were declared recovered, nor were there any more COVID-19 related deaths. To date six people have officially recovered and eight have died.

The total number of cases confirmed in The Bahamas remains at 49. Forty of those cases have been in New Providence, seven in Grand Bahama, one in Bimini and one in Cay Cay.

However, there has been a significant increase in the number of people in quarantine in the country. Yesterday, the Ministry of Health reported 493. Today's dashboard shows 712 people are quarantined. This represents an increase of 219.

BREAKING NEWS: Two more cases of COVID-19 have been identified in The Bahamas - both in New Providence.

The pair, which includes a man and a woman, brings the total number of cases to 49.

There remain 8 deaths and 6 recovered cases in the country. At this moment, there still remains 493 people in quarantine.

Case #48 is a 40-year-old female who is isolated at home.

Case #49 is a 50-year-old male, who has been hospitalized.

None of the cases has a history of travel. The Ministry of Health has not indicated whether there is any known contact to earlier cases.
