We’re kicking of 2026 !

Pronouns are a basic part of how we respect one another. For trans and gender-diverse people, using the correct pronouns isn’t a preference — it’s about dignity, safety, and affirmation.

✨ When we use someone’s correct pronouns, we:
• Acknowledge their identity
• Create inclusive and welcoming spaces
• Show respect and care

It’s okay to ask politely what pronouns someone uses. It’s okay to make a mistake — what matters is listening, correcting yourself, and continuing with respect.

At UCTRANS , we believe everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and respected for who they are.

🏳️‍⚧️ Respect starts with language.
💙 Inclusion starts with us.

UCTRANS remains committed to addressing systemic barriers that hinder transgender individuals from fully exercising their rights and accessing essential services. This plan focuses on five key strategic priority areas: Access to Trans-Specific Healthcare & Well-Being, Sustainability & amp; Organizational Development, Strategic Alliances & Partnerships, Visibility & Public
Awareness, and Education & Capacity Building. By leveraging digital advocacy, strengthening grassroots movements, and forging cross-sector collaborations

UCTRANS aims to drive legislative reforms, improve healthcare services, and amplify transgender voices at national, regional, and global levels. Through these efforts, UCTRANS envisions a Caribbean where transgender individuals live with
dignity, free from discrimination, and fully recognized under the law.

The Marsha P. Johnson Institute W just launched the first-ever Community Needs Assessment Survey focused on trans people of color.

This is a big deal. For too long, others have told our stories without us. This survey flips that. It centers our voices, our experiences, and our truths.

MPJI is asking community members, organizers, and friends like you to share the survey with your networks. The more voices we reach, the stronger our data and the more impact we can make together.

The survey is open to all trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people of color in the U.S.
It’s available in English and Spanish — accessibility matters.

It takes about 20 minutes, and folks can enter a raffle for prizes (including $1,000 and Community Care Baskets).

“Stronger Together: 95% and Thriving.”
World AIDS Day 2025

This year’s World AIDS Day event, hosted by the Medical Research Foundation in collaboration with representatives from the National AIDS Coordinating Committee (NACC), the Ministry of Health’s HIV and AIDS Coordinating Unit (HACU), the Trinidad and Tobago Transgender Coalition, COMTALK International, the Family Planning Association, CAISO, and a wide network of civil society partners and volunteers, celebrated the nation’s continued progress toward ending AIDS as a public health threat.

“Our success is rooted in solidarity, compassion, and the unwavering belief that we are stronger together,” said Dr. Lyons, Public Health Specialist. “Reaching and sustaining 95% viral suppression is not just a statistic—it is a shared achievement that reflects the resilience of our communities and the power of partnership.”

Dr. Ishaad John, Director of the HACU, extended congratulations on the successful ex*****on of the event and wished the Medical Research Foundation continued success in this critical national effort.
