The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MoHW) University of the West Indies Subvention Scholarship Application Portal now boasts an overhauled user interface, comprehensive bug fixes and workflow optimization for users. The portal, which was first digitized in early 2025 by the Information Systems for Health (IS4H) Bahamas information and communications technology (ICT) team, was updated and opened Q1 2026 for a new cycle of applicants.

Congratulations to The Bahamas on eliminating mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Kudos to the The Ministry of Health & Wellness Bahamas, The Bahamas AIDS Foundation Bahamas National AIDS Programme PAHO Caribbean and other partners.

This achievement reflects strong political will, steady investment in primary health care and strong partnerships with people living with and most affected by HIV.

UNAIDS is a proud partner of the Elimination Platform, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration with PAHO and all partners toward more certifications like this across our region.

We encourage the Government of The Bahamas to sustain investment and protect these hard-won gains.
