A 25-year-old man with no known recent travel history tests positive in Phuentshogling
The 25-year-old man who tested positive in Phuentshogling earlier today worked as a loader at the RRCO transshipment area and not at the mini dry port as reported earlier. He was working there since June 22.
There are 32 loaders in RRCO area and 149 loaders at the mini dry port.
Since the first week of June, they have been kept separately in one of the schools with separate bus pick and drop system in place.
While at work, strict safety protocols are followed at these sites. Workers use facemask, gloves and no contact with anyone- be it Indian drivers or locals are allowed. They are monitored by Police, Desuups, BAFRA and Customs officials.
According to some of the bus drivers, who are quarantined as of now, the buses used for transporting the workers are all partitioned.
The drivers said they underwent mass random testing recently where they had tested negative.
The man tested positive after he reported to Phuentsholing Hospital on August 11 with symptoms. 183 primary contacts of the man have been traced so far.
As of now, it is not known how the man was exposed to the virus. He has no known recent travel history. According to reports, the Ministry of Health is investigating the case and tracing all contacts.
