Dhyana Zhitshok is pleased to welcome Khenpo Ugyen Norbu as a teacher.

Khenpo completed his studies at Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, earning the title of Khenpo (Doctorate) in Buddhist Philosophy in 2018. He previously obtained a Master’s in Buddhist Philosophy (2009), completed a Master of Perfection (2007), and was awarded the title Lopen with distinction after an intensive nine-year programme. He served as a Lecturer at Gangtey Buddhist Institute from 2010 to 2014, teaching Shastra and both higher and lower ta**ra.

In his capacity as a researcher, Khenpo has contributed to studies on spring-shed water management and supported the development of scripts promoting humanitarian awareness and sustainable land management for Bhutan Red Cross Society and National Soil Services Center. He also worked with MAHA Dharma Foundation on re-creating Longchen Rabjampa’s collected works through Bhutanese calligraphy, contributing to preservation of cultural heritage.

Khenpo is an active writer and translator in Bhutan’s media landscape, known for his contributions to 3D animation and children’s literature. He composed the theme song and scripts for Ap Bokto and wrote scripts for educational animations like SAMPHEL and Monkey & Hen for Dzongkha Development Commission. He has also authored children’s books, including DawBhutshu and SERGEE-TAGMA.
