How Long Should Tea Bags Be Left in Water?

Steep your Cordyceps tea bag in hot water for at least 3-5 minutes minutes to allow the tea to release its full potential.

Before you put the tea bag in the cup, give it a gentle shake. This will loosen any compacted tea, allowing the water to flow freely through the tea leaves. Once the tea bag is in the water, there's no need to move it around.

Don't Oversoak Your Tea Bags

Don't leave your tea bag in the water any longer than six minutes. After the tea has been in hot water for this length of time, it begins to release tannins.

These tannins add a bitter taste, which many people find unpleasant.

Tea bags should be left in your hot water for three to five minutes. If you like a stronger cup of tea, soak two tea bags at the same time, or soak one after the other for three to five minutes each.

Almost all Lunaps (Cordyceps harvester ) reach home.

About 90 per cent of Lunaps are back to their homes from Punakha. The remaining few are also expected to be back in a few days. Unlike in the past, all Lunaps are returning home in choppers due to the recent heavy snowfall over the mountains, blocking their routes.

Every year Lunaps migrate to the lower valleys in October to escape the harsh winter back home. About 200 people of Lunana in Gasa migrated to the lower valleys of Punakha and Wangdue Phodrang this year too.

Normally, only about 60 per cent of the Lunaps return in Chopper. The rest used to travel with their horses. This year, they were forced to leave behind about 200 horses with some people of Gangtey-Phobji and Khotokha area in Wangdue Phodrang and some in Laya Gewog in Gasa because of the treacherous route.

An individual pays more than Nu 13,000 ( $175) for the 35-minute helicopter trip. The Royal Bhutan Helicopter Service Ltd provides the service.

According to Lunana Gup Kaka,( local leader) some people are adjusting the Chopper fares by availing of loans while some borrow from others for their return trip. He says the people of the Gewog faced unprecedented challenges this time due to the lockdown in Punakha. They are rushing back home as the barley cultivations are nearing in their village. It is the staple crop for both the people and their animals in their Gewog.

How to keep Cordyceps fresh for longer duration ?

1. The cordyceps should to be dried properly before packing in airtight plastic.
2. Then wrap the packed cordyceps by some paper to protect from freezer burn.
3 . Again put the cordyceps in airtight plastic and then put inside freezer to keep cordyceps fresh from bacteria and mold/insect growth.

If not taken care, mold/insect will form in cordyceps after sometime and spoil the cordyceps like in the picture.
