hey 🥰 my name is Peo Seretse & i’m an intern at the UB Psychology clinic. My main field of interest in psychology is Industrial and Organizational Psychology. I’m really interested in leadership, talent management, and HR, especially how workplaces can be structured in a way that actually supports people and helps them grow. I like thinking about how good leadership can change the whole feel of a workplace and make people want to show up and do their best.

A quote that really resonates with me is by Brené Brown: “Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.” I’ve been told I’m quite sensitive, and for a long time I didn’t know how to feel about that. But this quote helped me start seeing it differently, as something that allows me to connect with people more deeply and understand them better.

Outside of psychology, I enjoy pretty simple things, I love eating out with friends, trying new places, or just sitting down and talking over good food. I’m also really into movies, whether it’s something new or just rewatching something I already love. And honestly… I sleep a lot 😭 I really value my rest, nothing beats a good nap or just getting enough sleep to feel like a human again.

Fun fact: I love it when people choose to be vulnerable with me. I don’t take that lightly at all & it means a lot when someone feels safe enough to open up, and I think those moments are some of the most genuine and meaningful ones you can have with people.

Hello I’m Amantle Boikuelo 🌿☀️

I’m an intern at the UB Psychology Clinic, and I’m drawn to Counseling Psychology because I like understanding what’s under the hood — the beliefs, the patterns, the quiet stories people carry that shape how they move through the world 🧠🔧.

I lean on two therapies that fit how I work:

🧭 Adlerian Therapy helps me explore a client’s history and social world — their early memories, their sense of belonging, and the private logic guiding their choices.

💬 Person-Centered Therapy keeps me grounded in the room — showing up with empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, trusting that the client knows themselves best.

Together, they help me do what I value most: create space for people to feel seen, while gently exploring what’s really driving them.

🎯 Outside the clinic, I’m on the basketball court 🏀, with friends 🤝, or deep in a chess match ♟️ — all spaces that teach me something about patience, strategy, and connection.

📖 My Anchor: Jeremiah 29:11 🙏🏼
For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

💡 My Guide: “If you want to gather honey, don’t kick over the beehive.” — Dale Carnegie 🐝

🌱 Self-Care: Prayer, basketball, chess, and time with people who remind me to laugh.

🤍 Looking forward to connecting, learning, and growing alongside you.

Hey guys 😊, my name is Kemotho Omogolo Gomba 🤍

My interest in psychology is rooted in understanding people on a deeper level, especially emotions, healing, and personal growth. I’m particularly drawn to clinical psychology, as I’m passionate about helping individuals navigate their struggles and find meaning in their experiences.

My philosophical foundation is influenced by psychodynamic theory, particularly Freud’s idea that much of our behaviour is shaped by unconscious processes and early life experiences. I’m fascinated by how unresolved conflicts, childhood experiences, and hidden emotions shape the way we think, feel, and relate to others, often without our awareness.

At the same time, my perspective is deeply grounded in spirituality. I believe that while psychology helps us understand the mind, faith helps us heal the soul. For me, true healing happens when self-awareness meets spiritual surrender, when we not only uncover what is within us, but also invite God into those spaces 🤍

My Favourite Quote –
“You can’t heal what you don’t acknowledge.”
This reminds me that growth starts with honesty, with ourselves first and with God. Even when it’s uncomfortable, facing our truth is the beginning of real change.

📖 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” – Psalm 139:23
This verse reminds me that true healing involves both self-exploration and inviting God into our inner world. It encourages me to remain open, honest, and willing to grow.

My interests include deep conversations, personal development, faith, and understanding human behaviour. I enjoy exploring topics around mental health, relationships, and self-discovery, and I’m always seeking growth, both personally and spiritually ✨

My self-care includes spending time in prayer, reflecting, journaling, and allowing myself to rest. I recharge through solitude, meaningful connections, and grounding myself in my faith. These moments help me stay centred and aligned 🤍

Hi everyone 😊, I’m Kelebogile Obeilwe,An intern at the UB psychology clinic.
I aspire to become a forensic psychologist 🧠⚖️. Not just because it sounds interesting (which it definitely is 😅), but because I’m deeply curious about the connection between the mind and criminal behavior💯. I often find myself wondering what really drives people to act the way they do, especially in extreme situations🥹. Understanding the “why” behind human behavior fascinates me🥰, and I want to use that knowledge to make a difference in the justice system🔥⚖️ and in people’s lives. I’m especially interested in how psychology and the justice system🔥⚖️ intersect to bring clarity, healing, and accountability.

Personally, my life gets exciting when I nurture meaningful human connections ❤️✨,boost personal wellbeing through endorphin release (“helpers high”) and providing a renewed sense of purpose in people’s lives ♥️

About my hobbies I’m just a gym girlie 🏋️‍♀️ 💪 .I really love the gym because for me it’s a breather ,a moment of solitude✨✨✨ where i get to reflect on how my day went on a clear mind💯💯.Also my mornings are fire🔥 and graceful🙏🔥 as I listen to motivational talks by Steve Harvey and Podcasts such as the Diary of a CEO⚖️🔥.
An inspirational quote 👏 that I live by is “Nana Korobi ya Oki💯”.An original Japanese proverb. I like it more when said in Spanish “Si te caes siete veces ,levánte ocho💯🔥”.When translated in English is “If you fall seven times ,get up eight. It is a classical reminder that failure is not final and perseverance is key💯💯💯🔥🔥❤️❤️🙏🙏

Hello. I am Rantho Mantleotlhe currently interning at the UB Psychology Clinic. The field of Psychology I am interested in is Military Psychology deeply rooted in my personal journey of resilience. Having undergone a rigorous bootcamp during one of the lowest points in my life, I learned to “soldier on” amid challenges and discovered the transformative power of perseverance. That experience instilled in me a profound appreciation for the psychological strength required to endure adversity, adapt under pressure, and rebuild with purpose.
I feel most connected to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it mirrors the resilience I built during my bootcamp experience. CBT empowers individuals to reframe negative thoughts, confront fears, and develop healthier coping mechanisms—practical tools that foster perseverance and strength in adversity. For me, it bridges my personal journey with professional practice, making it a powerful framework for helping people navigate hardship and thrive.
In my free time, I recharge creatively through singing, dancing, and restorative sleep, which help me maintain balance and energy. I enjoy documentaries on the mind and criminal psychology, as they deepen my curiosity about human behavior. Spirituality also grounds me; for over 20 years, my faith has complemented my pursuit of Psychology rather than conflicting with it. Anchored by Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God,” I draw strength from stillness and faith—much like how CBT teaches us to shift our mindset to influence emotions and actions.
For self-care, I find joy in family time and often recharge by returning to my home village— “beke e tsenang ke tla ke le kotsi tota akere ke a go gata mmu wa ko g*e 🤭”—where being grounded restores me. Sleep is my ultimate reset, and conversations with older people inspire me with wisdom and perspective, reminding me that self-care is about both rest and meaningful connection.
A fun fact about me is that I am a chorister
That basically sums up who I am, and I look forward to working with you all. I look forward to forward to working with you all.

Hello everyone🥰. My name is Marilyn Both, and I’m one of the psychology interns working at the clinic this semester under supervision.

My main area of interest is child psychology (children are such cuties 🥹). I’m passionate about understanding how early experiences, relationships, and emotions shape a child’s development and wellbeing. I’m particularly interested in psychodynamic perspectives, which explore how unconscious feelings, early attachments, and past experiences influence how we think, feel, and relate to others. Working with children excites me and allows me to create a safe space where they can express themselves, feel understood, and develop healthier ways of coping with their emotions.

One of my favorite quotes is,
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” By Carl Jung.
This quote resonates with me because it reflects how important self-awareness is in understanding our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through psychological work, we can begin to understand ourselves more deeply and make more intentional choices in our lives🤍.

Outside of psychology, I enjoy spending time with people who bring positive energy into my life and engaging in meaningful conversations. I also highly enjoy being around my friends and family. I appreciate moments of quiet reflection and learning more about personal growth, relationships, and emotional wellbeing.

🧘🏽‍♀️ When it comes to self-care, I recharge by taking time to rest, reflect, and spend meaningful time with the people who matter most to me. I absolutely love a good evening walk with good music. Sunday reset and skin care days come in second🤭I also value moments of quiet and reflection that help me stay grounded and balanced.

I absolutely look forward to learning, growing, and supporting clients throughout this journey 🤍

Hey hey, I’m Phenyo Gate 🌟☺️

I’m an intern at the UB Psychology Clinic.🤭✨ Psychology for me is more than a career path, it’s a way of seeing the world. I’m especially drawn to **Interpersonal Therapy**, because it reminds me that human beings, though complex, are deeply rooted in love and social bonds 🩷. At the same time, I appreciate how **Cognitive Behavioral Therapy** sharpens the mind, helping us challenge distorted thoughts and reshape behaviors. For me, therapy is both science and story, heart and mind 🧠.

🎶 Outside the clinic, I’m outgoing, curious, and music‑obsessed. I believe life is a playlist: some tracks are for dancing 💃🏼, some for crying 😭, and I’m here to help people find the right volume 👩🏼‍⚕️. When I’m not studying or working with clients, you’ll probably find me lost in a mysterious thriller movie 🎬🍿 or building playlists that match my mood 🎧.

✨ **Fun fact:** I love turning psychological concepts into metaphors that stick because therapy, like music, is best when it resonates.

💡 **Favorite quote:**
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world.” - Albert Einstein

This quote inspires me because it captures the essence of psychology and life itself: knowledge gives us tools, but imagination allows us to connect, create, and re‑envision the world around us 🌍.

🌱 **Self‑Care Routine:**
For me, self‑care is about balance ⚖️. I recharge by listening to music that matches my mood 💆🏼‍♀️, journaling to untangle my thoughts 💭, and spending time outdoors to reset my energy 🌳. I practice mindfulness sometimes through prayer 🙏🏼, sometimes through quiet reflection because grounding myself helps me show up fully for others. And yes, I believe laughter counts as therapy too 🤭, so I never underestimate the power of a good joke or a spontaneous dance break 🕺🏼.

🤍 I look forward to working with you, learning alongside you, and creating spaces where growth feels like music. Sometimes soft 🎼, sometimes loud 🔊, but always meaningful 💚.

Hey hey🤭

My name is Zina Phatswane, and I’m one of this semester’s interns 🤗 I’m a very quiet and introverted person, and most people say I’m kind, humble, and great at giving advice. My goal is to became a clinical psychologist and a neuropsychologist 🧠 because these are the 2 fields of psychology I have deep interests in. I enjoy being the person that people can rely on for help and lending an ear when they need one. I’m interested in neuropsychology because I find the human brain fascinating. It is interesting to see how certain parts of the brain and neural networks influence our behaviours, and how different impairments in these areas can manifest into disorders. But my plan isn’t to stop there. Another field I’d like to explore is forensic psychology because I find the process of assessing the mental state of criminals at the time they committed crimes intriguing.

A favourite quote of mine is by Andy Warhol: _“The idea is not to live forever, but to create something that will.”_ I find this quote powerful because although we can’t physically live forever, it’s possible to create something inspirational and moving that will live forever with your name attached to it. So in essence, you kinda live forever💁🏾‍♀️

Oh my days, my interests🙈 Well, I love watching Kdramas🤭 And I love listening to music, especially alternative music. But I listen to a sprinkle of everything from Kpop, to Krnb, amapiano, rnb and hip hop. And my favourite artist is most definitely DPR Ian🖤🎸He is a creative genius! I love how open he is about his mental health, and his ability to incorporate it into his music and visually through his music videos. And hey, he never misses🤩

What do I do for self-care?🤔 Well, as I mentioned earlier, I’m an introvert and a Kdrama girly, so you’ll definitely catch me watching a Kdrama on days dedicated to taking care of moi. Oh, and the Twilight Saga. I also enjoy taking walks while listening to music, and I draw here and there but that’s when I’m really motivated to, which is a talent I’m trying to unlock😅

I look forward to working with you and helping you unleash the best version of yourself🥰

Hi hi 💕My name is Carol One Levin, an aspiring clinical neuropsychologist. I am a final year student doing my internship in the University of Botswana Psychology Clinic.
I am very passionate about understanding the connection between the brain , which has drawn me toward the field of clinical neuropsychology as i am fascinated by the brain’s ability to adapt and change, and I enjoy exploring how this affects emotions, cognition, and everyday functioning. This curiosity has sparked my interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which I use often in therapy.
I also hold a strong interest in child psychology, with a particular focus on how early brain development and environmental experiences shape a child’s emotional and cognitive wellbeing.
Outside academics, I identify as a devoted Christian and a feminist. I strive to create a supportive, respectful, and empowering environment for every client I work with.
My favorite quote is by Positive psychologist Tal Ben Shahar “Our behavior towards other people is often a reflection of our treatment to ourselves” which drives my commitment to empathy, respect and active participation in community services.
Outside of psychology I love volunteering particularly in initiatives that advocate for children, women, older adults and animals. I also love reading anatomy books, listening to music, trying out food, and creative expression.I also love laughing and i think I spent 80% of my day laughing😂

For self-care I listen to music, go shopping, read the Bible, some alone time and calling and venting my parents at every minor inconvenience.

Yeah, that’s me and please do come by Ub psychology clinic if you are in need of psychological intervention, i am looking forward to working with you.

Hey everyone🌼. My name is Vanessa Pebe, and I am a psychology intern with a growing interest in Educational Psychology, particularly in understanding how people learn, develop, and thrive in supportive environments. I am passionate about the connection between learning and mental well-being, and how the right guidance and encouragement can help individuals grow both academically and personally.💫

🔸️I am also intrigued by Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). What draws me to IPT is its focus on relationships and how our interactions with others shape our emotional well-being. CBT interests me because it explores the link between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and how changing unhelpful thinking patterns can lead to healthier emotional responses and actions.

🎀In my free time, I enjoy taking walks or going for jogs with my little sister, and I occasionally spend time baking, which I find relaxing and grounding (other that I just sleep to recharge🤭). A Bible verse that resonates with me is Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” I appreciate this verse because, in a way, it reflects a key idea in CBT, when our inner thoughts and mindset change, it can influence our emotions and ultimately our behaviours. I’m thankful for this internship opportunity to continue learning and developing in this field.❣️

hey I am Ibo Letty Mphinyane💝I’ve always been fascinated by the brain and the way it works, which is why I’m so passionate about “CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGY”🧠The idea that our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and even psychological disorders are connected to how the brain functions constantly sparks my curiosity. I’m especially interested in understanding how different brain processes influence the way we think, feel, and behave, and how studying these connections can help us better understand mental health and support people who are struggling.

Outside of school, I really value connection and meaningful moments. I love spending time with my loved ones having fun, laughing, and having meaningful conversations about life and how different people see and experience the world. I’m also passionate about volunteerism and being involved in organizations where I know I’m making a positive impact in people’s lives.

I also love fitness and wellness. 🏋️💪The gym is honestly one of my happy places, and I really enjoy running and marathons because they challenge me and help me clear my mind. Staying active helps me feel balanced both mentally and physically.

🎶🎶Music is also a big part of my life. I genuinely don’t know who I would be without it. I listen to all kinds of genres, and music has a way of calming me down and making me feel at ease.

My faith is another important part of who I am. I’m a Christian, and I enjoy reading the Bible and striving to live a life that reflects my values. A verse that keeps me going is Luke 12:11: “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say.”

Fun facts about me: I love sleep, I enjoy good conversations, and I can’t pronounce the letter “R” properly which has definitely led to some funny moments. Also, if you ask the people around me, they’ll probably say that when they see the colour pink, they think of me 💗.
