BVI Media Engagement Event — Board Chairperson’s Welcome Remarks

This morning at the Travel Lodge in Gaborone, we hosted a Media Engagement Event where high-level presentations were delivered on our 2021-2026 STRATEGIC PROGRESS & 2024 ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT themed “Pioneering Tomorrow.”

In her address, Board Chairperson Mpho Mphafe-Fish acknowledged the headwinds faced in 2024, noting “a tough global economic climate, marked by an economic slowdown, volatile inflation, and supply chain disruptions,” alongside regional droughts that shifted governments priorities toward drought relief.

Touching on strategic ex*****on, she highlighted progress within our 2021–2026 plan to boost operational efficiency, including a successful organizational restructuring to strengthen agility. In support of Botswana’s digital economy agenda, BVI has also implemented technological systems to enhance efficiency and cost management.
