This morning, the BVI proudly joined the Botswana Meat Commission and partners in Makalamabedi, Ngamiland, for the official launch of the Direct Cattle Purchase Scheme. The event was officially opened by the Acting Minister of Lands and Agriculture, Dr Edwin Dikoloti.

Since the 1970s, BVI has stood as Botswana’s line of defence at the livestock–livelihoods frontier, delivering proven vaccines, technical support, and rapid response that protect herds, and sustain trade and communities. When animal health is strong, opportunity flows.

From lab to rangeland, and under the Ministry of Lands and Agriculture, BVI advances science-led disease control and value-chain confidence.

BVI was represented by Head of Quality Management Dr Keabetswe Moagabo at the event.

In our continued commitment to safeguarding animal health, we donated 1000 doses of rabies vaccines to the Botswana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA).

This initiative supports BSPCA’s vital work in protecting and caring for animals, while contributing to national efforts to eliminate rabies. Together, we are building a safer, healthier environment for both animals and communities.

Today we received a very generous donation from the Botswana Vaccine Institute.

They have donated 1000units of the rabies vaccine!

We will use this incredible donation in our outreach work to uplift the impoverished communities in Botswana. By assisting people with rabies vaccinations for their pets we can not only keep their pets safe but we can help keep them safe too.

Thank you for being apart of our community Botswana Vaccine Institute and for your very generous donation towards our mission. ❤️
