C O N S T I P A T I O N.
One common problem or disorder of the digestive system is constipation.
It is when one passes dry hard and tiny stool with much difficulty. People who suffer from this disease may not pass stools on daily basis. After meals, it normally takes between fourteen hours to twenty four hours to remove metabolic waste from the intestines. If and when it takes a longer time than usual to move the bowels then we are developing constipation. The causes of constipation include eating food without enough raughage, not drinking enough water , the abuse of purgatives and others.
To prevent constipation, our food should contain enough vegetable fiber
We should eat more fresh fruits which serve as natural laxatives
We should drink more water daily but not when eating as we normally do. Do regular exercises to stimulate the body to use more energy and facilitate bowel movements. Try to respond to nature's call when you fell the urge to. Many people develop constipation just because there are no toilet facilities in their homes or near their homes. Consumption of too much meat should be avoided since it is one of the reasons why some people constipate. To fight an existing constipation however may need the use of colon irrigation and or the use of mild natural laxatives occasionally while you try to follow the advice given here. To cure constipation demands a conscious effort which takes time. The regular use of strong laxatives do not solve the problem of constipation
