On the 9th July 2019 Choppies was in Tonota sub district to donate four houses valued at over half a million under the National Housing Appeal. Officiated by the Assistant Minister of Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration Hon. Machana Ronald Shamukuni the handover ceremony saw Four (4) deserving individuals in their respective villages.

Choppies has donated Five 10,000 liters Water Tanks to the Bakwena community in an effort to help alleviate acute water shortage in the area. The presentation was done on the 17th April 2019 to Kgosi Kgari Sechele III at a ceremony held at the main Kgotla i n Molepolole last week. The water tanks will be placed at strategic places by the office of Kgosi Kgolo in consultation with key stakeholders i n the
Community. Water Utilities Corporation will be responsible for refilling the water tanks periodically.

Speaking at the handover ceremony in Molepolole, Choppies' Public Relations and Communications Consultant Mr. Jacob Sesinyi said, •'We are fully aware that the government of Botswana and Water U tilities Corporation are working on a long term solution for this water challenge as recently
communicated by the CEO of WUC at this Kgotla. However we feel privileged and fully humbled to be able to assist i n the interim ." He added that once the tanks have been allocated their respective areas, Choppies will construct the bases on which the tanks will be placed.

A representative from Water Utilities Corporation, Mr. Seabe Mabua, added "The water tanks that have been donated by Choppies will join 26 other water tanks that have been placed in parts of Molepolole that have been affected by the water shortages:' The addition of the 5 tanks will bring the total number of tanks to 31.

Speaking at the handover of the Water Tanks, Kgosi Kgolo of Bakwena, Kgosi Kgari Sechele Ill thanked Choppies for its commitment to the people of Molepolole during their time of need. He commended the company for the compassion it has demonstrated over the years through its other Corporate Social Responsi bility initiatives, add ing that it his hope that this will not be the last time Choppies comes to the aid of the community.

Choppies has donated Five 10,000 Litres Water Tanks to the Bangwaketse community in an effort to help alleviate acute water shortage in the area. The presentation was done this morning to Kgosi Malope 11 at a ceremony held at the main Kgotla in Kanye this morning. The water tanks will be placed at strategic places by the office of Kgosi Kgolo in consultation with key stakeholders in the

On the 14th December 2018, Choppies donated P1.8 million worth of food hampers to be used by the emergency service providers at a handover ceremony held by the Office of the President, His Excellency the President Dr. Mokgweetsi E.K Masisi.
The beneficiaries are the Botswana Defence Force, Botswana Police Service, Health Workers and Patients, Fire Services, Botswana Prison Service, Immigration Officers, Botswana Unified Revenue Services and the Directorate on Intelligence and Security.

On the 7th of October 2018 Choppies was in Lobatse giving away P37, 500.00 worth of toiletry and stationery hampers to disadvantaged youth through the facilitation of Thobo Cultural Festival and Lobatse Town Council.
This came as a sentimental moment for Choppies to be in Lobatse paying homage to its roots and elevating the livelihood of young people of that town because Choppies began on the foundations Lobatse in 1992 as Way-Side Supermarket in Peleng .Much of it success stories are owed to the lessons that the people of Lobatse have imparted on the company.
Choppies operates on the principles of positive human development that gives the potential to improve and better the youth’s potential and living conditions. Choppies gave away a year’ supply of toiletry and Stationery hampers to 25 young people who were selected as deserving by the Lobatse Town Council through the office of the Social Welfare .The hampers are at a value of P 1,500.00 each of the 25 youths selected, bringing the total donation to a value of P37, 500.00.

The Choppies Group of Companies on the 26th of September 2018 represented by Choppies Head of Human Resources Mr. Molatedi Kgotla, representatives from the company’s Marketing Department and Tonota Choppies Store team, handed over a lump sum of P53, 980.34 to two of Tonota Choppies store employees, Mr Botshelo Moiteelasilo and Mr Tshiamiso Kgalalelo who in June 2016 encountered a traumatic experience when the house that they share went up in flames destroying all their prized possessions.
Choppies as a company that is committed to staff welfare, human dignity and spirit building, mobilized their team and financial efforts in all the Choppies stores across Botswana to raise a sum of P26, 990.17 to offer support to their fellow colleagues. A sum that was matched by the Management of Choppies to bring the total to a generous amount of P53, 980.34.
The two gentlemen who received the donations highlighted that they feel humbled to be working with and for a company that genuinely cares about the wellbeing of their employees. They concluded that the money will give them a solid foundation in rebuilding and giving their lives dignity.

Choppies this Tuesday donated truck-loads of food hampers and toiletries to the Lady Khama Charitable Trust which were handed over by H.E. the President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama to The Botswana Defence Force, Botswana Police Services and the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The foodstuffs and toiletries are meant for army and police officers who will be on duty during the festive period, as well as patients that will be in government hospitals during the same period.
