A Final Flight for a Village Legend
Yesterday, The Bird's NEST" BW had the solemn honor of visiting Mosetse village, just outside Francistown, to bid a final farewell to a remarkable man. At 71 years old, his passing in a tragic accident has left a void in the hearts of many, but his legacy as a loving father and a pillar of the community was clear to all who gathered.
The atmosphere was one of profound respect as the entire village came out in large numbers. We were humbled to stand alongside the community and distinguished guests, including the Honorable MP for Nata-Gweta, Mr Lawrence Ookeditse, who came to offer his support to the bereaved.
At the request of his children, we released white doves to symbolize his peaceful transition and the love his family carries for him. As the doves took flight, they carried with them the collective prayers of a village mourning a man who was truly loved by all.
We extend our sincerest and deepest condolences to the Simisani family, their friends, and the entire Mosetse community. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

❣️Yesterday , The Bird’s Nest had the distinct honor of serving the Tebogo family during the tombstone unveiling of their beloved mother, Elizabeth Seratiwa “Sthando-same” Tebogo.💕
In the quiet of the morning, we released white doves as a symbol of peace, love, and the soaring spirit of a woman who was a pillar of strength not only to her family but to the entire nation.
To Ano , Letsile (Letsile School-boy Tebogo), and the rest of the family: we understand that no words can truly ease the pain of loss, but we hope that seeing these birds take flight provided a moment of serenity and a beautiful "proper" farewell to your number one cheerleader.
May the spirit of your mother continue to guide you, and may her soul rest in eternal peace. Fly high, Mma Tebogo. 🕊️🇧🇼

My name? Katlego Lesego, kept doves from childhood out of love, around the age of 10yrs, I'd keep any dove in my bird house not minding its colors. At the time they were sold around P5 to P7 depending on the color, pure white ones and brown ones where the most liked and most expensive. Back then every backyard in Botswana had these beautiful birds, but over the years they seemed to slowly become scarce in people's backyards. This was mostly because people began to think they are just useless and costly to keep as compared to other birds.
Most began to be homeless, but the doves being wise they would group themselves to form families or flocks. These flocks still exist today in famous places like Main Mall, Village flats near University of Botswana and the birds seem to be doing well as they naturally have sharpened survival instincts.
As for my birds, oh yes, I still had them but was really financially feeling the burden from them as I had hundreds of them and they eat a lot. Had to think of ways to make enough money to feed them.Decided to give the colored ones away to friends and cousins who had interest in keeping them but only remained with 4 pure white doves. Why did I choose to remain with pure white doves you asked? After thorough research on doves. I discovered that white doves carry with them strong symbolic meanings such as love, hope, peace and new beginnings to those who come in contact with them.
Thought of it from a business perspective to commercialize my hobby and that's how The Bird's NEST business came about. The Bird's NEST is a home to white doves. We breed them for symbolic meanings to enhance the meaning behind any occasion. The Bird's NEST basically offers 2 kinds of services: WHITE DOVE RELEASE AND DISPLAY SERVICES. Today The Bird's NEST has attended over 30 of Batswana's events from wedding, memorial services to parties. The white birds shower blessings, give people hope, symbolize peace, happiness and new beginnings.
It is also important to highlight that The Bird’s NEST is where it is today through the help of our clients, my old friend Gofaone , my twin brothers Ofentse and Kefentse, my parents, friends and to all those who are always active to give a helping hand. The road we are taking is not an easy road but it sure is an adventurous one no one would resist.
