This day, April 7th 2014, exactly 10 years ago, we opened our doors at Vision Health Optometrists. It has been a wonderful journey, an incredible period of growth for me personally and as a clinician. Those days when you see a client for the 1st time, who has been in and out of hospital recently but nothing from the tests, you see their swing in prescription which typical of diabetic change. Following referral, that client comes back and tells you they have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, that is what we wake up for every day. That patient who comes in complaining of double vision recently and terrible headaches, you find out they have swollen Optic nerve head and you refer them further to an ophthalmologist and neurologist, only to find, they have swollen brain as well. Again, the satisfaction from that is immense, as it's potentially life saving.
A massive thank you to my family for the support, my friends and indeed all those who have walked through our doors these past 10 years. We couldn't have done it without you, THANK YOU, THANK YOU AND THANK YOU.
