We look forward to a fruitful and purposeful year ahead as we dig up the sand in our back yard and create sustainable farm to table experiences. Change the way we see our grocery stores and in our own little way contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

Gakuto Herb Garden Training

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of training a vibrant group of 14 farmers in the beautiful village of Gakuto, located in the Kweneng District.

What began as a simple call to train a maximum of 10 farmers quickly grew into a transformative experience with additional last minute bookings— sharing valuable skills and knowledge with young working adults, retired women and young men eager to explore culinary herb gardening, value addition, packaging standards, and access to retail markets.

This training wasn’t just about sparking thought-provoking discussions — it was about building a strong network of herb growers producing for both skincare and healthy living.

Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! One of the most important lessons we explored was garden tools, soil composition and depth — because at its core, farming is mathematics in action.

We’re now taking bookings for group training sessions in November and December — anywhere in Botswana! We’ll come to you, equip your team, and connect you to markets for culinary herbs.
