ECZEMA FAST FACTS

Eczema, or dermatitis refers to a group of the most common skin diseases.
There are different kinds of eczemas as well as other related skin conditions,that affect infants and young children( cases are now common to adults)
eczemotous skin is dry , scaly ,red and in severe cases blistering can occur.
In children with dark skin, eczema can look like tiny bumps.
It is itchy.

HOW TO MANAGE ECZEMA

-Eczema is incurable but it can be managed and there is need for patient education since the condition does not require medical treatment.
-Use of steroids in treatment of eczema should be minimized.
-Aqueous creams are the best moisturizers in managing eczema, therefore they should be made available and accessible in rural and communal areas
-Use of herbs and faith healing for this condition is discouraged.
