World Su***de Prevention Day 🌍💛

Today we pause to raise awareness, honour those we've lost and change the way we talk about su***de.

Changing the narrative on su***de means talking about it with honesty, compassion and hope.

Let this day remind us that:
đź’š Struggling does not make you weak.
đź’š Asking for help is brave.
đź’š Healing is possible.

You are not alone and your story still matters!!

Breaking the Ice

It’s been a while, but we are back and on a very special month 💚

September is Su***de Prevention Month. A month that reminds us just how real, complex and heavy the fight against suicidal thoughts can be. đź’›

When we started Breaking the Ice Network, our mission was simple: to make sure that anyone battling mental health challenges feels loved, seen, heard and understood. ✨💚

We know these struggles more than you can imagine, and we want you to know that we are here for you, ready to support you in every way we can.

Su***de is a hard conversation, and mental health is still surrounded by stigma. But your story is far from over!

Reach out! Check in on someone! Spread awareness! 🫶💚

🌱Still Healing, Still Growing

As July comes to a close, take a moment to check in with yourself.

✨️What did you release this month?
✨️What did you learn about your needs?
✨️What do you want to carry forward?

Healing is not a race, it's a journey. Even if you're still finding your way, that's more than enough.

You don’t need to have it all figured out by the end of the month.
What matters is that you're showing up for yourself.

đź’š Keep setting boundaries.
đź’š Keep honoring your emotions.
đź’š Keep choosing yourself.

Let August find you softer, stronger and still becoming.

đź’š Establishing healthy boundaries is crucial for releasing the burden of over commitment and protecting your energy.
đź’š The greatest release comes from letting go of the need to control every aspect of your life.
đź’š Physical exercise can be a great way of releasing built up emotions and stress.
đź’š Adequate sleep, a balanced diet and staying hydrated enhances both physical and mental health renewal.
đź’š Reflecting on past experiences, both positive and negative can provide valuable insights for personal growth.

July: A Month of Release and Renewal

This July, prioritize your mental health. đź’š
Suppressing your emotions doesn’t make them disappear, it only delays your healing.
Let this be the month you give yourself permission to feel, to rest and to heal.

✨ Book that therapy session.
✨ Take that mental health day.
✨ Say no when you need to.

Your mind matters.
Your peace matters.
You matter.

Check in. Speak up. Be there.
Because we need to take care of our mental health every day, not just one month. 💪🗣️

Supporting Menđź’š

Men's mental health is a crucial topic, often overlooked.
It encompasses the emotional, psychological and social well-being of men, impacting their daily lives, relationships, and overall health.

Addressing this involves recognizing the unique challenges men face and creating a safe space for them.
How?
-Initiating honest and open conversations about mental health.
-Listening actively when they share their feelings, without interruption or judgement.
-Do not use the information they share with you against them e.g during arguments.
-Understanding that men have feelings and allowing them to express themselves.
-Choosing our words carefully.
-Encouraging them to get professional help when they need it.
-Sharing mental health resources.
-Checking in regularly.
-Encouraging them to practice self care.
-Providing reassurance, words of affirmation and gifting them.

The stigma should end with us!!đź’š

June is Men’s Mental Health Month 💚🙎🏻‍♂️

Every day, men around the world face silent battles with stress, anxiety, depression and more. Yet too often stigma and outdated ideas of masculinity keep those struggles in the shadows.

Let’s break the silence. Let’s remind every man that
they are strong because they chose to speak up, that asking for help is a brave step and that it is vital to take care of their mental health, just like your physical health.

Let us normalize the hard conversation as men and about men's issues. Let us encourage real connection in a man's world!

Check in with yourself. Check in with the men in your life. And let’s fight these negative stereotypes together!!
