Are you aware that ALL formulations of insulin need to be stored at a specific temperature for it to work?

Insulin needs to be stored at a constant temperature of 36 - 46 degrees Fahrenheit. This reduces the possibility of insulin proteins breakdown and ensures your insulin works as intended.

Where is the best place to store your insulin?

Studies have indicated that the middle shelf of your refrigerator, is the ideal area to store your insulin. It does not under as much temperatures changes, like those of the door panels of the top shelves.

What can you do to ensure effective storage?

1. Store insulin according to manufacturers guidelines
2. Utilize a thermometer to assess the internal temperature of the refrigerator
3. Where possible utilize a dedicated minature insulin cooler to reduce incidences of temperature change
