🌿 **We’re Back!** 🌿
Although we’ve been quiet on this page, we’ve been hard at work advancing **Palliative Care in Belize**. Over the past four months, we've made meaningful strides:

1. 🎓 **Graduated with a Master’s Degree in Palliative Care.**
2. 📚 **Presented a case study at Belize’s first-ever Palliative Care Symposium.**
3. 🤝 **Working with an interdisciplinary Palliative Care team**—including a chaplain, social worker, and nurse—to build on my interdisciplinary care models.
4. 🌎 **Attended an International Palliative Care Conference in Guatemala City**, strengthening regional networks and learning from fellow palliativists.

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned—we’re committed to growing and shaping the future of Palliative Care in Belize! 💜

It's Palliative care day....

I am Dr. Anya Moguel a Palliative Care provider.
What is Palliative care?

Palliative care or comfort care are for patients with life limiting and progressive illnesses. Our main focus is improving quality of life.

Palliative care includes but not limit to patients with:
1. Cancer
2. Senility and complications
3. HIV
4. ALS
5. Lupus (LES)
6. Paraplegic
7. Tubercolosis
Among others...

Palliative care focuses on a patients: Physical, emotional, Psycological and Spiritual needs.

It's Octuber 12th
World Palliative Care Day.

As a palliative care provider I have always heard people telling me " that haad", "you mussi no have hart" etc. I always take the time to educate them. Palliative doctors are often depicted as emotionally stable and heart-less; however we are soft people emotionally. We feel and go through the emotional roller coster along with our patients and their families.

Palliative care integrates patients, families, medical personel, spiritual leaders, volunteers and communities. The ultimate aim is to improve quality of life.

I am a Medical doctor and I am also a Palliativist - I take care of complex end of life health needs.
From the begining of a life threatening diagnosis my team and I work together with patients and families to ensure symptom management and improve quality of life.
