The National Council on Ageing in collaboration with the Senior Steps of Belmopan, proudly hosted an intergenerational talent event on November 28th, 2025. We are touched by overwhelming number of sign-ups that were excited to showcase gifts, and even more so by the turn out on the night itself.

From heartfelt songs filled with so much meaning, to instruments of different keys and chords, to the Senior Steps bringing li-ter-al drama, and our host Dxvid Morey keeping the energy fresh and engaging, our audience were amazed.

We extend our thanks to all who participated and to everyone who joined us in attendance. Thank you to Maggie's Creations for the beautiful backdrop. The enthusiasm has already sparked requests to take this show on the road. We are excited to work towards the next chapter in 2026.

When we talk about gender-based violence (GBV), we must include older women. This issue is often hidden and rarely discussed, but it affects millions and is a serious violation of human rights.
Violence against women doesn't stop at a certain age. It can continue throughout their entire lives, or even begin for the first time in later life.

We are hearing some of the reaction from our Know Your Rights: Empowering Older Persons in Belize held at the Best Western Plus Belize Biltmore Plaza on October 29th, 2025, and we are loving it. The consensus? It was a truly informative session.
