So how has your new year been so far?

Any new year's resolution?

Ours is to keep ourselves humble and simple and healthy no matter where we may live.

As we do want to make Belize our real home sweet home, the decision for 2020 is to leave(will return!!!) for more skills, experiences, finance stability though it was heartbreaking to leave our beautiful land. Love hurts sometimes😞

A Happy, healthy new year to everyone. Stay tuned to good food ,good mind, good health!
See you soon!

Being creative with what's around us is an essence of your life to be thankful 😁

We love learning that with our food a lot!

Star fruits produce a few times throughout the year.
And they produce A LOT.

What do you do when you can't eat fast enough?

We juice them!(How come it is not so common!? It is gooooodddd!!)

With a little bit of mint, cinnamon and your preferred sweetener if you want.
Lime leaves give off nice scent too.

We are curious if anyone enjoys starfruits in different ways? πŸ˜‹

Our corn is surviving !!! Counting down the days until yummy Tamalitos and tamales πŸ˜‹. It's local white corn,We decided to not use hybrid varieties(for a few reasons). Many farmers around us lost their crops this year or had poor yeilds mostly due to the drought.

A very important key ingredient in the making of miso, is called koji rice.

Enzymes break down starches, proteins and fats in the fermentation process to produce amino acids and help digestion and absorption of the nutrients.
It also improves intestinal microbial flora!

The koji culture(spores) is the most widely used substance of traditional fermented foods and drinks in Japan such as Miso,Soy sauce, Mirin, Sake(alcoholic and non alcoholic) and Rice vinegar ... Really a king of fermentation foods.

We are striving to produce a good quality koji in the hope of introducing many healthy foods to this country! Fingers crossed!

Good day! Tried red banana before? Apparently higher nutrients than other yellow bananas especially in potassium . As usual,we ended up using them in baking since we can't eat them fast enough and found out they taste way better when baked!!Wish this variety was more common.

Here is a little something we want to share what we are doing to less impact our soil in our property since our used water directly dump back in the soil.

We make dish soap from
Rice bran,Baking soda and Water only.
This won't be solid like a bar or in liquid form. This is more like paste.
Benefit is :

It removes oil off of the plates, pans, etc very well. I like this over regular store bought soap.

Make your skin smooth and moist because of all the beneficial minerals and vitamins and ceramide of rice bran.

Your chickens in the yard, fish in the river can eat those bits after dumping the washing water.

Since this needs to be used up relatively quick for spoilage, we have to make often but it takes only 5mins!

Let's think and do something little you can do for better living! Collective of all little things have a power!!!
