Motherhood was never designed to happen in isolation.

For most of human history, raising children happened inside a web of relationships — extended family, neighbors, older women who had walked the road before.

Today many mothers find themselves navigating pregnancy and postpartum largely alone.

The absence of community doesn’t just feel difficult, research shows chronic loneliness can significantly affect both mental and physical health.

That’s why rebuilding relational support around mothers matters.

At Care For Women, mentors step into that gap, offering practical help, encouragement, and consistent presence during one of the most vulnerable seasons of life.

Because mothers were never meant to do this alone. Learn more about how to make mom friends on our blog (or apply to be a mentor for a mom who needs support). Link in bio.

Two children can go through something similar
and have completely different outcomes.

Why?

A study of over 2,100 children suggests it’s not just what happens—
but when and how it happens in early development.

We’ll keep breaking this down together. If there’s something you’re wondering about, or want me to explain further, let me know below.

Pregnancy and postpartum hold both joy and intense stress, sometimes at the very same time.

This mom described her mentor as “an absolute angel.”
Not because everything was easy, but because someone kept showing up.

Listening without fixing.
Reaching out without waiting to be asked.
Offering steady love when things felt heavy.

Support doesn’t erase stress.
But it significantly changes how alone you feel inside it. 💛

Have you ever reacted strongly to something small your child did?

That moment is often what psychologists call a parenting trigger.

Triggers happen when a child’s behaviour activates emotions that go deeper than the moment itself. Exhaustion, past experiences, and expectations about how children “should” behave can all amplify our reactions.

Understanding these triggers doesn’t eliminate frustration — but it helps parents pause and respond with more awareness.

And that awareness can change the entire interaction. Learn more about your parenting triggers and how to heal them on the blog. Link in bio.

What begins as support often becomes friendship. 💛
Through Care For Women, many moms not only receive care — they find their people.
As one mom shared, “I’ve made a hopefully lifelong friend, and I’ll forever be grateful.”

Motherhood wasn’t meant to be done alone.

The transition to parenthood was never meant to be done alone.

This article by Melissa Hogenboom highlights the Dutch model, where new parents receive in-home support after birth to help them adjust to life with a newborn 💪

At Care For Women, this one reason why we are so passionate about supporting mothers early - because how a family begins matters.

We are like a Canadian version of kraamzorg.

Care doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful.
In the early weeks of motherhood, presence can change everything, even when it looks small from the outside.
If someone you know is walking through this season, remind them they’re not alone. 🤍
