Mindfulness Yoga With Dee Quaint, homebased yoga studio based in East Abbotsford, near Sandy Hill Elementary. I love what I do for a living! No judgements in my space at all.

My name is Dee and I am a mother of two teenagers, a wife, a daughter, a student of yoga , a teacher of yoga and a teacher of seniors fitness. I love how Yoga has shown up in my life and how it continues to help me grow as a human in this very challenging world we live in. Mindfulness and Yoga continues to teach me on a physical, emotional and mental level how it can be life saving. As someone who has suffered from anxiety and anger management for as many years as I can remember ,this practice has taught me how to walk hand in hand with anxiety and anger in a way that is loving, compassionate, non judgemental and non reactive. So this is why I do what I do and share what I share with others , because I believe in the gifts that Yoga and mindfulness have to teach us. I believe in the gifts that body movement has to teach us. I believe that when we can slow down and tap into the feelings and sensations of our bodies this can be very very healing. I believe that when we practice Yoga it broadens our capacity to be in a more conscious and aware state that can leave us feeling less reactive in overwhelming moments and situations. What can you expect from the classes that I share -

I do my best to provide a space that is safe and welcoming to everyone! My natural spirit is one of kindness, love , joy and compassion. You are in charge of you and you are the boss of your body so unless asked , I will always leave you to find your way through the yoga practice in whatever way that looks to you.

Yoga is an individual practice. I don't believe it is one size fits all. We all are unique beautiful humans that need the space to move , breath and process our bodies energy in whatever way that arrives. This is how we learn to connect to the most authentic forms of ourselves. Just being you without needing to be anything else... that is Yoga! The studio is a homebased studio near Sandy Hill Elementary. Exact address is given at registration.

I love using sound as a way to anchor into the present moment.
Especially sounds that feel good.
Birds chirping, the wind blowing, the sound of water flowing, laughter .
What are sounds that help bring you into the present moment ? What sounds make you feel glad you are alive?

Today I invite you to notice the sounds around you. Use sound as a way to tune into the present moment and bring you back into alignment when you noticed you have wandered away gf in thought.

Just got back in from my early morning walk with Rosie , it’s a chilly one this morning.
The chill in the air today reminded me that we are still hanging on the outer edges of winter.
And the season of winter is a time to find stillness and rest when we can.
So if you are noticing this deep sense of feeling tired mid day , or absolutely exhausted by night.
Or even just feeling tired after having a nights sleep.
It is all so so so normal.
So my invitation to you is continue to find times in your day to rest. Let your body be still when you can.
Go to bed a bit earlier as well. I know sometimes it sucks to give up watching shows you like to go to bed early . But trust me your body will love you for it.

Yoga is all about connection to the mind body and breath.
This connection can be made through the classic style of stretching on a yoga mat or in a chair.
But the connection can also be made through exercise, dance , walking , running , hiking.
Any activity that brings us into alignment with our breath and body is yoga.

This is the theme for the March yoga series starting tomm night.

Although spring is calling , it’s important to still tend to the stillness and rest that is needed within, before we fully embark into the blissful feelings of spring.

Happy March 1st to this super Awsome mindful moving community !!
I hope this finds you well on this beeauuuuuutiful sunny Sunday.
And March 1st to boot.🎉🎉

March is the month of seasonal transition.

Although spring has not officially sprung all its wonder and beauty quitely wait on the edges of winter passing. And today is one of those days.
As I was out for my walk with Rosie this morning I noticed the briskness of winter, but the spring like warmth of the sun. I heard the birds singing yet noticed the dormant vegitation still present.
March feels like the yin and yang of yoga.
Our bodies still crave the stillness, rest and comfort of slowing down in the winter months. The appetite may still need warm drinks , dark rich foods to help keep the warmth alive within. Yet there is this playful part that starts to get lit up with excitement now that winter is moving on its way out and the lighter longer days are gently arriving.

For the month of March all the yoga classes I will be offering, will be an invitation to continue to find that deep rest within. That last little bit of hibernation, so we can get curiuos about what we need as we grow into spring.
Moving through gentle sequences that allow you to flow , be present and awaken to your spring.

Tuesday Mornings. @ The Hub.

Chair Yoga - 10-11am.
Gentle Flow Yoga - 11:30-12:30pm.

Thursday Evenings.

“Just Be - Mindfulness Yoga Series.”
