Mindfulness Yoga With Dee Quaint, homebased yoga studio based in East Abbotsford, near Sandy Hill Elementary. I love what I do for a living! No judgements in my space at all.

My name is Dee and I am a mother of two teenagers, a wife, a daughter, a student of yoga , a teacher of yoga and a teacher of seniors fitness. I love how Yoga has shown up in my life and how it continues to help me grow as a human in this very challenging world we live in. Mindfulness and Yoga continues to teach me on a physical, emotional and mental level how it can be life saving. As someone wh

o has suffered from anxiety and anger management for as many years as I can remember ,this practice has taught me how to walk hand in hand with anxiety and anger in a way that is loving, compassionate, non judgemental and non reactive. So this is why I do what I do and share what I share with others , because I believe in the gifts that Yoga and mindfulness have to teach us. I believe in the gifts that body movement has to teach us. I believe that when we can slow down and tap into the feelings and sensations of our bodies this can be very very healing. I believe that when we practice Yoga it broadens our capacity to be in a more conscious and aware state that can leave us feeling less reactive in overwhelming moments and situations. What can you expect from the classes that I share -

I do my best to provide a space that is safe and welcoming to everyone! My natural spirit is one of kindness, love , joy and compassion. You are in charge of you and you are the boss of your body so unless asked , I will always leave you to find your way through the yoga practice in whatever way that looks to you.

Yoga is an individual practice. I don't believe it is one size fits all. We all are unique beautiful humans that need the space to move , breath and process our bodies energy in whatever way that arrives. This is how we learn to connect to the most authentic forms of ourselves. Just being you without needing to be anything else... that is Yoga! The studio is a homebased studio near Sandy Hill Elementary. Exact address is given at registration.

Ahhhh sitting down to take a wee afternoon break.
Is it just me or are you feeling the near wrapping up of the week exhaustion too?
When I’m tired I look forward to rest, kicking my feet up, slowing down my breath and being still.

Tonite I’ll be at The Hub for one more evening class before I take a break for two weeks.
Tonites class will be very restorative in nature.
An opportunity to slow down , offer the body some static stretches and then settle into stillness.
Practices that don’t require a ton of movement and welcome in stillness can often give us that little energetic charge we need to finish out the week.
There are a few spots left if you feel called to join in.

Good morning !
Movement is such a wonderful thing to offer ourselves. Movement helps calm the nervous system, reset our minds, lift up our spirits. If you are feeling stiff, tight or sore, movement creates something called synovial fluid that is like an oil dispatched from our muscles and lubricates our joints which can help alleviate the discomfort.
Movement welcomes heat in the body , which can be very supportive to tender muscles and joints.
Our bodies were meant to move and when they do movement becomes medicine to our souls on so many lovely levels.
In all the practices I teach whether it’s yoga or fitness , I always say showing up is the hardest part. If you can get your runners on and start the walk you’ve shown up! If you can get in the car and drive to your movement destination, you’ve shown up. If you role over turn the alarm off at 5am and walk to the bathroom you’ve shown up!
Those are the hard parts. The actual movement part if gravy.
The mind will always love to talk us out of a thousand reasons why we shouldn’t go.
Do your best to remind your mind how good you feel after moving and then just go do it!🤩
Go walking , running , bike riding , swimming , hiking, dancing or even just give your body a good old shake out!
And if you are looking for a teacher to guide you through a practice, find out what’s happening in the community.
There are all sorts of classes going on.

Hello Sunday Mindful Movers!

An invitation to come join me with over the next 3 weeks.
I’ll be offering 3 evening drop in yoga sessions starting this Thursday April 23rd.
Running until Thursday May 7th.
These classes are designed to help release, and manage feelings such as anxiety, worry , stress and to help support a busy mind.
All classes are gentle flow and suitable for beginners and all levels of yoga.

Taking a step back from life this week to be there for my dad , myself and family.
Hospitals as we know are not the most desirable place to spend time in. Yet I’m ever so thankful that we live in a place where we can have medical support.
This past month has felt like a lot.
Yesterday we didn’t receive negative news about my dad but not necessarily positive either .
But what we have continued to receive these past few days is clarity of what is happening in my dad’s body and how we can move forward.
That brings a sense of relief.
We have received nothing but good care love and support from all the medical individuals we have come across.
Yesterday I went to use the bathroom on my dad’s unit and these flowers were placed there.
They brought me joy and good vibes.
Sometimes you just need to look around and you would be surprised by the little joyful messages that are holding you through your journey.
Although there have been days and moments that have been hard.
My dad sister and I spend a good portion of the day finding some good laughs.
Remember to laugh !!! It’s so good for your heart soul and nervous system. It pumps up those positive hormones like serotonin and oxytocin.
We have had moments where we are laughing and crying at the same time!!😂😂
If you are having a challenging day , week month year !
Offer yourself these little gifts because they really do go a long way.
*Laugh.
*Find the joy in your day.
*Pause and breathe, even if it’s just for a moment, stop all stimulation.
*Meditate.
*Walk.
*Get fresh air.
*Drink water.
*Eat fresh foods.
*Hug, hug yourself or ask someone to hug you.
*Get good rest.
*Be kind to yourself, this is a tough time, you don’t have to get it right or fix anything. Just be kind to yourself.
*Go do something nice for yourself, get a late,go for a massage, get an ice cream ! Whatever. But take time to treat yourself.

Sending out big long hugs to you all.
We are all stronger than we know. Chin up you you got this moment and this day.

Take in a nice long inhale and let out a nice long exhale.
No matter what is showing up for you remember every breath and every moment is a gift of a new start.
You get to choose how you want to meet your moments.
If you don’t like how you felt in the last moment you always get a chance to start over again , again and again.
This is how we grow.
Take time to slow down even in the business of life and even if it’s just for 1 minute or one conscious breath.
Reseting and restarting matters and it really can help keep us feeling balanced, aligned and safe.
