What Are Hands-Free X-Rays? 🩻 🐾

Hands-free X-rays are a modern approach in veterinary medicine imaging, where pets are carefully positioned without anyone needing to hold them in place. 🐶

Instead of traditional manual restraint, veterinary teams use supportive tools such as:

-Foam positioning blocks or troughs
-Sandbags or specialized cradles
-Light sedation, when appropriate

Why does this matter? ❤️🩺

Not every patient is a willing participant, but this approach helps us accomplish the following:

-Less stress for pets: No hands-on restraint is required by staff, helping patients stay calm
-Better image quality: Steady positioning leads to clearer, more accurate results for our doctors and radiologists
-Safer for staff: Minimizes repeated radiation exposure

Because let’s face it, not everyone enjoys having their photo taken with an audience. 📸
