It was great to celebrate Wagner Hills’ grand opening of their new Oakdale House. It is an outstanding place of recovery. It was a treat to get a tour led by Jason Roberts, Executive Director. The visit made me humble and hopeful for all that Joshua House can become. May God bless the continuing work of Wagner Hills.

16,000 overdose deaths since 2016. I joined a walk and ceremony in Abbotsford hosted by Life Recovery and Telecare on Sunday evening to mark the Annual Overdose Awareness day. Stories of family members and friends lost to the crisis is a painful reminder that too many have been impacted. So with many, Joshua House seeks a day that this ends.

I’m looking forward to participating on a panel hosted by the Abbotsford Christian Leaders Network (ACLN) on Wednesday, September 10.

We’ll be diving into a timely and important conversation: Addiction Recovery in a Christian Context.

I’ll be joining an excellent group of panelists, including:

Tony DeWaal – Interim Executive Director, Life Recovery

Mike Sikora – Senior Manager, Housing, Homelessness & Community Development, City of Abbotsford

Yesterday was a panic. Main fridge fails. Food spoils. Meals? Fridge gets fixed. Then Out of the blue comes Joseph Sikora of Ground Zero with a full truck load of unexpected food. Meals on! Thank You Joseph. You turned an exasperated day into a day of thanksgiving.
