🔨 THE PURPOSE PROJECT
Construction Training for Male Survivors of Violence
🗓️ Starts October 6, 2025
📍 Location: University of the Fraser Valley

LIVING your best life with PURPOSE‼️

The Purpose Project is a trauma-informed construction training program that supports men who have experienced violence, trauma, or abuse. This unique 17-week program combines employment skills, mental wellness, and hands-on training in a safe, supportive space.

Participants receive 5 hours of group-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) guided by a Licensed Clinical Counsellor to support healing, emotional regulation, and personal growth.

✅ Industry-recognized certifications (Hoist, WHMIS, Forklift, Skid Steer, First Aid, Mental Health First Aid & more)

Wellness By Nature - is a wellness group for youth ages 12-24 that encourages youth to get outdoors and offers them to try new activities with other young people.

🌿Thursday, July 24th - Cultus Lake Nature Walk & Swim
We will be spending the day with Discovery Park Ambassadors who will lead us on a nature walk talking about the land, and different plants and trees; before we have time to swim!

💙The Agenda for the day:
8:30am - Check in at Foundry
9:00am - Bus picks us up at Foundry
10:00am - Nature Walk Starts
11:30am - Nature Walk Ends
Lunch
12:00pm - Free time at the beach to swim, relax and eat
3:00pm - Bus picks us up
4:00pm - Arrive back at Foundry (Depending on Traffic)

It's free clothing closet time at Foundry Abbotsford again! This event is open to all youth ages 12-24 and their families. Come on by just for the closet or browse while you wait for your appointment. All are welcomed and encouraged to take as much as they need. Please bring your own bags if you plan to stop by 😊

The closet will be open in Meeting Space A at Foundry, just off of the waiting room:

Monday (July 14) 12pm-3pm
Tuesday (July 15) 11am-6pm
Wednesday (July 16) 1:30pm-6pm
Thursday (July 17) 10am-1:30pm

The journey of recovery is deeply rooted in connection, support, and shared purpose. At the Bob Sutton Centre, these values are reflected not only in our programs, but now also through art.

A resident in recovery has generously created and donated a powerful mural as a tribute to the transitional housing staff whose dedication and compassion make a lasting impact. This artwork serves as a meaningful reminder that recovery is strengthened by community, and that expressions of gratitude can take many impactful forms.
