Cluneal nerve pain is a common cause of low back pain. It shows up as pain in the upper/outside of the hip/glut (1) as well as down the outside of the thigh (3 - which gets mistaken as sciatic pain many times) as well as occasionally showing up by causing pain in the inner thigh/groin area (2).

Many times this pain is due to an impinged nerve and can be solved in a few visits - occasionally it is due to injury of another structure in the area called the Iliolumbar ligament which requires more intensive treatment.

The mainstay of treatment is an injection therapy called Prolotherapy. This is a restorative therapy that will cause long-lasting prevention and treatment of the cause of pain.

Dr Yee has treated low back pain and cluneal pain specifically for over a decade and brings his skills to airdrie. If you have unexplained low back pain, the doctors at Mountain Health Team may be able to help. We've been trying out this Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Mat from a local Entrepreneur who owns Alpha Wave. This mat is high quality with more coils than most of the competition and emits an electrical field similar to the earth - albeit stronger (and it has a mode to adjust the Hertz - the number of electrical cycles per second).

PEMF is one of several Biohacks that may be able to reduce pain, inflammation, increase circulation and decrease stress.

I have a question, as purchasing this particular AlphaWave mat is $1800, would anyone be interested in paying $20-25.00 for 30 minutes of time to come to our clinic and lie on the mat?

We are looking for a Part-Time Receptionist to help us out several days a week in the afternoons and 2-3 Saturdays a month. The main qualifications are a desire to help people and having some understanding or familiarity with natural focused medicine as well as some proficiency with computers is required.

The boys and I went for a beautiful walk after a nice swim at Radium Hot Springs, and when we got back to the car, we were surprised to see that we were covered in ticks! As far as I could tell they were the American Dog Tick (Dermacentor variabilis) which are not known to carry Lyme Disease - they could carry other bacteria though. After taking off about a couple dozen from our clothing - most on the outside of our clothing but also inside shirt collars and inside sleeves - an hour later one crawled down the back of my neck from my head 😳.

As many Doctors in Canada are not aware of Lyme Disease in Canada, or other tick acquired infections, save yourself a headache and check yourself over carefully after being on a hike.

Dr. Mountain had a great time this week at the University of Calgary's "Kindustry" event. So many good questions about career options from great students. This was his 10th year attending... wow, the time flies!
