EPS Update ✨

It’s with sadness and heartfelt excitement that we share an update about our lovely team member, Paige. Paige will be leaving EPS to start her own private practice.

Working alongside Paige for a year and a half has been so wonderful. Her passion for the field, deep care for clients, warmth, kindness, compassion and calm presence is truly special. We’re grateful for her work with clients at EPS and wish her much success as she takes this very exciting next step in her career! 🤗👏🏾

You’ll be missed around here, Paige! We’re forever grateful for our time together at EPS. Excited to continue being in community with you🩷

Today was 4th annual legacy run/walk. It’s an incredible honour to be a partner of the walk this year.

I walked in memory of two early miscarriages and the loss of our sweet daughter, Sarah with loving support from family and friends near and far. Sarah was silently welcomed into the world at 28 weeks and 6 days on January 4, 2022. It is a loss that has forever changed me and my family.

Grief is not linear. Grief does not expire. Today I honoured love, sadness, grief and loss on the walk. Although this club is not one anybody wants to be a part of, it was comforting to be in community with others journeying through these kinds of losses.

Rest in eternal peace little ones🩷🦋

Thinking of and sending love to all the moms who are hurting and making space to honour their loss. On this International Bereaved Mother’s Day and every day, your loss is recognized and you are seen 🫂

“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be” - Robert Munsch.

This beautiful verse can be found in Robert Munsch’s book Love You Forever. He wrote it in honour of his two stillborn babies. I share this as we honour and recognize all the moms who’ve experienced miscarriage(s), termination for medical reasons, embryo loss, stillbirth, infertility, infant/child/teen/adult loss.

✨DIRECT BILLING✨

At Embrace Psychological Services we provide direct billing where possible to help in reducing barriers to accessing counselling services.

Depending on your health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered fully or partially. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan reimburses you for services provided by a registered psychologist, a registered provisional psychologist or a registered clinical social worker.

If we are unable to direct bill your insurance plan, payment is expected at the end of the session and a receipt is issued for you to submit.

Our team is accepting new clients for daytime, evening and weekend appointments. We offer in person sessions at our Airdrie office, virtual sessions across Alberta (all therapists) and virtual sessions are also available for residents in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Nunavut (provided by Anneta only).

I hope your Monday is going well!

I typically post for Movement Monday. On this Family Day holiday, I’ve opted for rest and relaxation.

When you are used to being on the go, it can be difficult to slow down. Been there! 🙋🏾‍♀️ I was tempted to put on some tunes and groove in my comfy sweats and ultra soft socks however, I remembered what I often say to clients:

Rest is productive

It’s okay to take a break.

I’m listening to what I preach and choosing rest 🙂

Grief is a personal journey that impacts one’s physical, emotional and mental wellness.

A few things I’ve learned as I walk through my own grief journey…

Grief is natural
Grief cannot be rushed
Grief is not a weakness
Grief does not have a destination
Grief is a process
Grief changes
We grieve because of love
