I know we've seen advisories for Hepatitis A before, including a couple in Airdrie, but I don't think I've ever seen one for typhoid before. I checked the stats and in Alberta there were 33 cases of typhoid in 2023. If one of them was a restaurant worker we would have seen an alert like this one in Saskatchewan

Anyone with symptoms who was exposed between Oct. 8 - 19 is asked to call 811.

We will have both Moderna and Pfizer vaccine arriving tomorrow. If you want to book for COVID, it would probably be safe to book after 4pm. Our order usually gets here around 2-3pm.

Tetanus boosters are now available for no charge if you haven't had one done within the last 10 years. Ask at your flu appointment and we can do it at the same time. Happy New Year everyone! We are going to try to reactivate our social media a bit more in 2024. Lots of stuff going on that I can't wait to discuss. But I wanted to start the year with a request. We are always happy to get feedback from our patients. I was really reminded of this yesterday when we had three separate consults that had made enquiries to other pharmacies that claim to be travel clinics before booking with us. All of these patients thought the initial "advice" given didn't make sense. So they sought us out and surprise, they actually didn't need 6 vaccines and to take antimalarials for a month for their trip to South Africa (in a high risk malaria area for 4 days total) or were told they couldn't enter a country without a yellow fever certificate (not accurate).

These appointments are rewarding in that you feel like you've helped them and put them on the right path. However, it is annoying knowing that these patients are likely a small minority. Most people just go along with that "advice" and really don't receive optimal care. There won't be an adverse outcome in a 25 year old getting Twinrix even though they have Hepatitis B clearly on their immunization profile. But they are needing to squeeze in 2 appointments before their trip to get something they don't need.

So after that lengthy bit of venting, I'll get back to the point. We want to ensure the message gets out about what we can provide. Google Reviews really do matter and help people make decisions. So we would be really appreciative if you provide us with a review.
