Saksgum Gandidils Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies, Healthy Spirits

Nisga’a Culture and Traditional Healing practices tell us that listening and choosing to live a healthy lifestyle results naturally in a healthy mind, healthy body and healthy spirit. Working in the Spirit of Sayt K’ilim Goot with healthy Nisga’a citizens in a healthy environment, supporting and being supported by healthy families and communities is our ultimate vision.

The Nisga’a people through Nisga’a Lisims Government (NLG) have entrusted Nisga’a Valley Health Authority (NVHA) with the responsibility to manage the delivery of Nisga’a programs and services in health. This responsibility includes collecting and sharing with our people traditional knowledge about health and healthy living, as passed down to us by our elders. NVHA upholds the vision of healthy living which integrates traditional healing with present day health practices. Integration of knowledge and practices will be achieved by following the wholistic principles of our cultures and traditions as we work in partnership with each person living on Nisga’a lands.
