Hello, my name is Elizabeth – your instructor. First and foremost, I am the mother of two adorable girls – aged under 4 years. My husband is an amazing support and champions my passion for teaching and my business goals in every possible way he is able. Without his encouragement and assistance I would not be where I am today. When not teaching, you can usually find me surrounded by my family and f
riends – at the zoo with the girls, at the park or mall, pool or rink, or in the comfort of my own home. Growing up in my family has always kept me surrounded by children (I’m the oldest of 15 grandchildren) and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Wherever I may be – I am usually in the company of the people I love! When I am teaching, I’m in my glory! It is not simply just a job for me – it is my life’s work. During your course, it is my goal to connect with you and the group to provide the skills and, thereby, instill the confidence necessary to help prepare you to deal with emergency situations – at work, at home, or enable you to assist a stranger on the side of the road…and, of course, it is my hope to make it an enjoyable experience as well. My 12+ years of teaching – in this field, as well as figure skating – has provided me with the required knowledge, qualifications and experience necessary to instruct with confidence and reliability in order to meet your requirements satisfactorily. Currently, I am employed by the Toronto District School Board as a Lifeguard, Swim Instructor (of multiple levels) and First Aid/CPR Instructor. I also volunteer my time as a Swim Coach for students competing at various levels. In the past, I have worked for Mayfair Fitness (Lifeguard/Swim Instructor), Canada’s Wonderland (Lifeguard) and various cultural/social organizations (Lifeguard). In August, for the past few summers, I have been employed as Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR Supervisor for a government sponsored Camp for new immigrants to Canada – an experience I find particularly interesting and rewarding. Some of my interests include scuba diving, snorkeling, photography, travelling – along with having several years’ experience teaching figure skating to all ages (I am a figure/synchro skater of 21 years). In the event you decide that my unique blend of life/work experiences and skills/qualifications are the right fit for you and/or your company, I will endeavor to make sure that you walk away from the course feeling confident and sure of your course skills and knowledge. Please contact me if you have any questions, or would like to arrange a course. Have a great day!
