Wondering what to wear to your next osteopathy appointment?

We've got you covered—literally! Here's the scoop on the perfect outfit for a zen-filled session:

1️⃣ Comfort is Key: Opt for loose, breathable clothing that allows your body to move freely. Think yoga pants, leggings, or comfy sweats. Your body will thank you for the flexibility!

2️⃣ Layers for the Win: Osteopathy may involve gentle manipulations and stretches. Layering ensures you can easily adjust as needed. A cozy hoodie or a light jacket is a great choice.

3️⃣ No-Fuss Footwear: Slip-on shoes or sandals are a game-changer. Easy to take off, and you'll feel more relaxed without the hassle of laces. Plus, it's a nice touch for your feet to breathe! We get this can be tricky though as we transition into winter weather.

4️⃣ Say Yes to Stretchy: If your session involves movement or exercises, choose fabrics with some stretch. This way, you can fully engage without any restrictions. Flexibility in your outfit = flexibility in your session!

5️⃣ Accessorize Mindfully: Keep accessories minimal. You might need to remove jewelry or belts during certain treatments. Opt for a hair tie if you have long locks—it's all about that hassle-free vibe!

Did you know osteopathy goes beyond the realm of pain relief.

As advocates for holistic well-being, it's essential to recognize the broader spectrum of benefits that this therapeutic approach offers.

It's a symphony for your entire body. While addressing pain is part of the process, the ultimate goal is to restore balance and harmony throughout the body. It's a comprehensive approach to wellness that considers every note in the body's composition.

In our fast-paced lives, stress is an unwelcome companion. And osteopathy extends its soothing touch to your nervous system, providing a profound sense of relaxation.

By easing tension in both body and mind, it becomes a valuable tool in the pursuit of mental well-being.

One of our most favourite treatments to use with patients is facial acupuncture!

Facial acupuncture consists of inserting tiny (SUPER TINY) needles to target fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, tone facial muscles and even-out skin tone.

This technique induces collagen and elastin production through microtrauma and increases blood flow to the area which helps with skin brightening. Who couldn't use more collagen?!

Here are some of the reasons I LOVE using facial acupuncture with my patients:
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Helps to reduce the apperance of dark circles under the eyes
- Increases collagen production
- Reduces signs of aging
- Facial glow
- Diminishes scars

This is such a great tool to implement on a regular basis to help skin look refreshed.

Fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, insomnia, irritability – sound familiar?

These are common symptoms of burnout and something a lot of us feel as our schedules get busy, we see less sun and more snow, and the cooler months make us want to crawl into bed.

High levels are cortisol paired with poor diet, lack of nutrients and maybe more coffee and alcohol than you’d like to admit can set the perfect stage for some serious nutrient deficiencies.

One of the ways we like to support our patients back to feeling like themselves again is with IV therapy.

This is a quick way to deliver a big boost of micronutrients into your system to help replenish some key nutrients that get depleted when we are stressed, burning the candle at both ends and relying on wayyyy too many coffees!

Feeling like your system could use a boost of nutrients – IV therapy may be for you!

This week at the office, we have had many patients coming and the root of some "everyday pains", which has actually resulted in a conversation and treatment plan surrounding chronic pain.

So let's get to the bottom of what chronic pain is!

Chronic pain is defined as a condition lasting longer than 3 months or beyond a "typical" recovery period. Chronic pain doesn't necessarily affect someone every day (although it can), but it often significantly impacts functioning and quality of life.

Everyone experiences pain differently, based on our past experiences, individual tolerance, and other factors in our health and life (like stress!).

Chronic pain can affect any part of your body - from headaches to abdominal pain to joints and muscles or even persistent injuries.

If you experience chronic pain, there ARE ways to feel better beyond conventional pain medications. Most commonly I recommend starting to pay attention to your triggers and tolerance for certain movements or activities, and learning how to adapt your habits and choices to stay within that tolerance. BUT I generally don't recommend stopping these things altogether.

I highly recommend getting support for your pain by working with a healthcare provider experienced in chronic pain management.

It's that time of year again...
The sniffles, achy bodies, and the dreaded cough...

Are you ready to take this cold and flu season head on?!

Consider the following for supporting your immune system:
- Address Any Gut & Sleep Issues. Lack of sleep and poor digestion function are working against you when it comes to staying healthy.

- Manage Your Stress. There’s a link between high stress and weakened immune function. Now might be the perfect time to be giving your adrenal glands (the one’s that pump out our stress hormones) a little extra love.

- Talk to one of our naturopathic doctor about nutrients and herbs that can give your immune system a little extra boost. There are many great options depending on your individual needs.

- Consider IV Therapy. It’s a great way to give your body a boost in nutrients to help support your immune system.

A major question from patients is, how can I get more protein into my diet?!
From running around with the kids...
Too busy work and life schedules...

We wanted to share a few tips from and an article she wrote all about protein!

Smoothies: Combine a scoop of your flavoured or unflavoured protein with some fresh or frozen fruit & veg, and liquid of your choice. Consider some highly nutritious bonuses like almond butter, greek yogurt, h**p hearts, flax seeds, 1/2 avocado, and more! Then blend it up and enjoy!

Super high-protein Greek yogurt: Mix 1 scoop of protein powder with 3/4c Greek yogurt (it seems like a lot at first, but blends nicely within a minute of mixing)

Baked Goods: You can usually substitute a fraction of the flour in muffins, banana breads, cookies, and other baked goods with protein powder. It's not a perfect substitute (and I'm not a baker) but you can find lots of great recipes on Pinterest.
