I’ve learned the hard way that pushing through when I’m already exhausted doesn’t make me stronger—it leaves me more depleted. Rest isn’t something we have to ā€œearn,ā€ it’s something we need in order to show up fully in our lives.

Lately, I’ve been in a season of figuring out what my rhythm needs to be. What routines actually feel right? What’s sustainable? What’s just noise?

I’m learning to notice what my body is craving—consistency, calm, structure—and also gently exploring what’s getting in the way of that.

Whenever you notice you are in pain, remember you have three steps you can take:

Here I am! Waiting on my virtual platform for my client to show up. I really love what I do! And I feel so honored to be a social worker and a psychotherapist on World Mental Health Day. For the past sixteen years I have had the privilege of hearing countless stories from men, women, children and families. The issues can be complex, however I am always amazed by how incredibly resilient we all are. We can go through the most horrendous tragedies yet still get back up and keep going. I am not immune. I have my days too. I am also human..but I don't take my role lightly. It is an honor to do what I do and to be trusted by others who need support.

Have you ever thought of talking to someone to address your concerns? Are you open to the idea of learning new strategies and coping skills that can help you navigate your issues? It's not easy to request help and share your feelings with someone you barely know. Once you feel at ease, therapy is no longer intimidating. It can be a rewarding experience.
