As the holidays officially come to an end, it’s time to prepare for the work week. Mentally, physically and lifestyle wise. I’m not really a new year, new me kind of person. I’m just a keep grinding kind of person. Going from sedentary to active and fit is evolutionary. And contrary to what most fitness influencers will tell you. It takes a whole lot of time to revolutionize your body. Years, to be specific.
Tonight, I’m using my usual Sunday night prepping to take a moment to remind you all that if New years for you is a time to reset and refresh your fitness goals, remember that investing in your health and fitness requires a lot more than showing up to the gym. You have to show up in every area of your life with an intention to improve and progress.
It’s not just about showing up. It’s how you show up. How you show up for your workouts, how you show up to be consistent. How you show up for your nutrition and how you show up for rest and recovery.
One of my biggest challenges in my own fitness journey, was my nutrition. Not because I didn’t know what to eat. I just didn’t value myself enough to make my nutritional requirements a priority in my life. The best way to ensure clean eating is to prepare healthy food ahead of time.
for me the only way to ensure that I have a healthy and nutritious week is by using Sundays as my meal prep days. Sundays are my only day off, and I’m not gonna lie. There’s so much to do in this one day off food prep sometimes seems impossible, but I do the best that I can.
as we start the new year, I want you to take this opportunity to ask yourself. Am I really doing the best that I can to help achieve a fit and healthy lifestyle? Or, am I half assing it? And using busyness as an excuse to not really focus and give my health and fitness journey, the dedication and commitment that it needs?
Do yourself a favour and stop making excuses. Stop half assing your fitness journey. There’s so many other places in your life or you could slack off. Try not to do it when it comes to improving your health and wellness.
