Personal Care aide Needed
This position would support a physically disabled wheelchair bound female with independent living within her home and the community. Duties include but are not limited to:
-assistance with getting in and out of bed
-assistance with showering, personal hygiene, oral care, skin care, toileting, dressing, grooming and activation etc
- assistance with cleaning, cooking, running errands, and doing laundry.
You will also engage in activities like reading, talking, and playing games. Additionally the personal care aides might consult with us as the family members to address concerns regarding the health, nutrition, and overall well-being of.
Duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures and in a manner which respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, need for self-respect and self-determination of the individual, all in ways which promote maximum personal and functional independence.
Shifts/ Availability:
We are looking for Sept 1/23 start dates.
There are several shifts currently available. Hours can be somewhat flexible and could also include some weekends and split shifts.
Qualifications
-have access to a reliable mode of transportation
-most of all, enjoy helping those in need.
-Criminal Record Check with Submission of satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
-First Aid Training
-Basic cooking skills
-Take safety training as required by the employer
Experience and other requirements:
Previous experience would be preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with the various individuals involved in providing holistic care
Must be physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand and walking as required to perform the duties of the position.
Be organized and reliable.
