🎧 Do everyday sounds feel way too loud?

If you’ve ever winced at the sound of clinking dishes, a barking dog, or even someone laughing nearby, you might be dealing with hyperacusis—a fancy word for sound sensitivity.

Here are a few quick things to know:

1️⃣ It’s not “just in your head.” Your ears and brain are reacting differently to sound.
2️⃣ Everyday noises like a vacuum cleaner can feel really uncomfortable.
3️⃣ It can happen after loud noise exposure, ear injuries, infections, or certain health conditions.
4️⃣ There’s help! Sound therapy, gentle exposure, and CBT can make a big difference.
5️⃣ Don’t wear earplugs 24/7, it can actually make things worse.

👂 At Connect Hearing Canada, we help people reconnect with the sounds of life—comfortably. If sound sensitivity is making life harder, we’re here for you.

🔊 Making a Difference | Connect Hearing Clayton Park, NS

At Connect Hearing, every fitting is more than a procedure, it’s a chance to transform a life.

One of our incredible clients, supported by her physician and our compassionate Hearing Care Professional Darcy, recently received new hearing aids. The result? A truly heartwarming moment. She cried tears of joy in her car after her first fitting, because for the first time in years, she could clearly hear the world around her. 💓

She’s since let go of her old amplifiers, embraced the partner mic for noisy settings, and even referred two people to us so they too can experience the gift of better hearing.

Now enjoying life through our Hearing Care Plan, she inspires us to keep delivering care with clarity, empathy, and excellence.

It’s moments like these that show the true impact of what we do. 🧡
