We are a ten bed residential and community hospice located at 131 Wellington Street East in Alliston. As well as, Mental Health support to our community.

Offering caring, compassionate support to individuals, caregivers, and loved ones facing a life-limiting illness or grieving a loss.

We had a blast on Friday night! 🥔

The Potato Festival Parade is one of our favorite events! We look forward to it every year - the streets filled with people, smiles, and community spirit! 💛

Thank you to New Tecumseth Rotary for organizing the parade, to all the local organizations, businesses, and farms that make the parade extra special with their unique floats, and of course to our community members who show up and cheer us on! 💛

We can't wait for next year! 🥔

Thank you to Rodney from Access Glass for generously donating the glass topper for our Memory Care & Dementia Day Program buffet 💛

Our cafe style buffet provides our Day Program clients the option to help themselves to coffee and treats as they please fostering independence.

The glass top will help protect the buffet underneath for years to come!

“Sure, I will have a black coffee, but don’t just make a pot for me” ☕

Thank you to the Caughey Family for their generous donation in memory of Margaret Caughey. They very kindly offered to use a portion of their donation to purchase a new buffet for our Day Program 💛

Margaret became a good friend of Matthews House through our Memory Care & Dementia Day Program. Her husband, Glen, fondly remembers her bringing home quite a few crafts she made while spending the day with us 🖌️

In March, Margaret joined us in our hospice residence where the family spent quality time together.

Their donation of a new buffet offers our Day Program clients a self-serve coffee and treat bar. It fosters independence for many of our clients and brings a special cafe experience to all 💛

The plaque includes: In loving memory of Margaret Caughey. Margaret enjoyed her time at Matthews House Hospice Memory Day Program, whenever asked Marg would always respond “Sure, I will have a black coffee, but don’t just make a pot for me” ☕

We support caregivers and family too! 🤝

At Matthews House Hospice, we walk alongside families as they become caregivers to their loved one. The caregiving journey is a labour of love and comes with its own challenges and emotions.
We offer one-on-one support to caregivers, help with resource navigation and advocacy for themselves and their loved one, facilitate support groups, education sessions, and wellness therapies.

We were thrilled to welcome Scot Davidson to Matthews House Hospice earlier this week!

MP Davidson has been very active in our community since his election to office earlier this year. We have seen him at our Hike for Hospice, McHappy Day, Smile Cookie Week, and many other community events!

In his first visit to Matthews House, we offered him a tour, highlighted our 55 community programs, and discussed our 3 hospice services that are here to support the community when they need it most.

Thank you MP Davidson and Jennifer for taking the time to visit us and learn more about the meaningful impact of hospice care 💛
