This year, proceeds are going toward a Giraffe Incubator for our Obstetrics Department, helping us care for our tiniest patients when they need it most.

Today we are highlighting our Professional Practice Team and Hospital Shift Supervisors as National Nursing Week comes to a close.

Our Professional Practice Team has an important role at the hospital: to ensure that our frontline staff have the training and education they need to provide safe evidence-based care. They lead and supervise our extern team, help provide guidance and training to staff on clinical technological advancements and round with staff and patients to provide support and collect feedback.

Our Hospital Shift Supervisors are clinical leaders and supervise hospital operations during evenings and weekends. No challenge is too big or too small for this mighty team of experienced nurses who ensure everything is running smoothly behind the scenes. They lend a helping hand to our clinical teams, patients and families and manage anything that comes their way.

We are grateful for these two incredible nursing teams at SMH! Thank you for all that you do.
