The Double Whammy: Snow & UV Rays:
The pristine white snow might look harmless, but it's a powerful reflector of UV radiation! This means your eyes are exposed to sunlight from above AND reflected from below, significantly increasing your risk of damage.

Understanding the Risks:
1. Snow Blindness (Photokeratitis): Just like a sunburn on your skin, snow blindness is essentially a "sunburn" on your cornea. Symptoms can include:

Pain and a gritty feeling in your eyes

Redness and excessive tearing

Light sensitivity

2. Cataracts: Long-term exposure to UV radiation is a significant risk factor for developing cataracts.
