Welcoming Kristen Wharton who brings advanced training in facial care techniques with a whole-body approach to skin care that fits right in with our wellness philosophies at Natural Balance. Even if you don't have space for a garden, planting a few sources of leafy greens in pots can be a great way to increase your nutrition and support your health during our sunny summer months! Try Kale, arugula, or swiss chard for easy-growing, nutritious and delicious additions to your diet from home!

Greens are win-win—rich in nitrates and a good source of potassium. Nitrates from green leafy veggies are converted to nitric oxide in the body, and potassium increases nitric oxide release. We can improve our artery function within minutes of consuming greens.

Nitric oxide from vegetable nitrates not only improves oxygen efficiency, but also oxygen delivery by vasodilation of blood vessels—that is, by opening up our arteries so there’s more blood flow. This effect may be beneficial for athletes (to improve their performance), as well as people with high blood pressure and peripheral artery disease.

Today is world Autism awareness day - celebrate neurodiversity and inclusion!

Autism Canada is currently building up the support to launch the Community Assistance Program, which is designed to help subsidize some of the costs for vital programs and services for individuals on the autism spectrum, their families, and caregivers. This program aims to support families and individuals caught in the wait by providing subsidies for assessments, therapy, and respite. The urgency for support has never been more critical, with diagnosis rates on the rise and wait times for assessments stretching up to four years in some provinces.
