Time to Fall Back! 🍂

Let's make sure you don't fall back into bed! 😴

The clocks go back an hour this Sunday! Lack of light in the evenings can leave you feeling groggy and sluggish leading to naps and changes in your sleep schedule. We've put together some tips to help keep your sleep on track after the time change!

1️⃣ Morning sunlight: Get some early sun exposure to help your body clock reset and boost energy.
2️⃣ Move often: Short walks, light stretches, and mobility exercises can help fight off drowsiness.
3️⃣ Eat well: Choose balanced meals with protein and whole grains to give you lasting energy and avoid crashing
4️⃣ DRINK WATER: Fatigue can come from dehydration. Water = wakefulness!
5️⃣ Monitor your Caffeine: Avoid having coffee, tea, pop, or energy drinks after 2pm to help maintain your usual sleep schedule
6️⃣ Maintain Routine: Go to bed and wake up at consistent times to help your body adjust faster.

⭐ Avoid blue light from phones and TV's for 1-2 hours before bed or use blue light blocking glasses

We hope these help to keep you alert, focused, and ready to take on this time change! 💪

October 16th is World Spine Day 🎉

This year we are encouraging you to “Invest in Your Spine!"

Back pain impacts your quality of life but most cases can be managed and prevented with healthy habits.

Some of our favourite tips for a healthy back include:
👍 Staying active: regular movement keeps your spine strong and flexible
👍 Consider your posture: adjust your workspace and avoid long periods of sitting
👍 Lift smart and safe: bend your knees, not your back
👍 Strengthen your core: stability starts at the center
⭐ Remember, preventative actions are better than delayed reactions.

At Physiomed Alliston we offer physiotherapy, chiropractic, and massage therapy services to help keep your back feeling great. We also have an extensive product line featuring bracing and orthotics to assist with any injuries/conditions you may have.

Take the time to invest in your spine today for a healthier spine tomorrow 🙌

World Mental Health Day 🧠🩷

Today serves as a reminder that your mental health matters and should be prioritized every day. One of the best steps you can take to improve your mental health is adding more physical activity into your day to day.

Physical activity has been scientifically proven to boost mood, reduce anxiety, and lower stress. When you move, your body releases serotonin, endorphins, and dopamine. These chemicals make you feel good by regulating mood, improving focus, and building emotional resilience.

Small, consistent movement can make a big difference in how you feel, both physically and mentally. This long weekend, we encourage you to move more for your mental health ✅

Remember - whether it’s a walk, sport, stretch, or workout - movement is medicine 🙌
