Across our communities, Resident Recipe Day is all about bringing residents’ cherished recipes to life — dishes inspired by their stories, traditions, and creativity. And few stories are as powerful as Paula’s.

At 100 years old, Paula, a beloved Kensington Place resident and Holocaust survivor, has shared a lifetime of resilience, love, and family tradition through her famous Mandelbroit (the Yiddish word for biscotti). Together with our Executive Chef Philip, she brought this almond-flavoured, delicately crisp treat — and the story behind it — to the entire Kensington Place community. 💛

At Orchard Valley, Resident Recipe Day brought a taste of tradition to the table! 🌟 Pat shared her beloved Bacardi Rum Cake — a recipe she’s been baking for family gatherings and dinner parties ever since she first spotted it years ago in Chatelaine magazine.

The result? A cake that was a big hit with residents and staff alike — full of flavour, memories, and plenty of smiles. 💛
