Alzheimer Awareness Month: it's crucial to recognize that numerous conditions have a visible representation, whereas dementia often does not. Many of these beautiful faces struggle with expressing themselves verbally. Understanding their facial expressions can provide insight into their emotions. It's essential to exercise patience when interacting with those who struggle to find the right words or convey their thoughts effectively.
Our residents, having aged in place, allow us to develop a deeper understanding of their non-verbal cues, enabling us to determine their genuine preferences, such as whether they are willing to take a bath now or not! Are very fortunate to have trained staff that creates a safe environment for them to expressed their needs amd wants.
