It’s Nurses Week, did you know?

I thought I’d share a few things I love about being a nurse, beyond the cute hat of course 😉

I love that nursing is a wide and varied profession. That it's not only the nurse in scrubs at a hospital bedside, offering skilled, compassionate one-on-one care, but that nurses can be found in education, policy, research, leadership, and yes, even in business.

I love that as a community health nurse our “patient” is the community itself.

I love that community health nurses look at the big picture.
The factors that shape health - in all its forms.
The gaps people fall through.
And the hidden strengths in our towns & people that could grow if given the right care.

I love that we wonder, how systems, resources, and connection—or lack of them—affect people’s mental health and wellbeing? And what can be done to support the care of many?

I love to embrace relationship building, collaboration, creative problem solving, evidence-based solutions, and multidisciplinary care.

And I love how we get to put these principals into practice every day through our work here at Trellis.

We’re not just here for individuals, we’re here for the whole. We think about how to build stronger communities. Designing care and services that respond not just to individual needs, but to the well-being of our whole community. Creating opportunities for meaningful connection, conversation, and action.

What this little RN Grad couldn’t have known - but would be so pleased to be part of.

Happy Nurses Week all 🎉

If you left The Anxious Generation event asking, “Okay—but what now?” you’re not alone.

From Awareness to Action is a follow-up evening designed for parents, educators, and others ready to move from concern to practical action.

Facilitated by Beth O’Halloran from Trellis Mental Health, this event will create space to reflect on some of the key learnings from the book event, share current challenges and goals, and explore next steps together.

Come ready to think, share ideas, ask questions, and maybe have a laugh or two :) You don’t need to have anything figured out—just an openness to explore what might be possible alongside others.

📅 May 29th🕡 6:30–9:30pm
📌 Mississippi Mills Library - Almonte Branch
💰 $15 +HST per person *space is limited

Lots of growth for us here this spring. At the end of March, we officially closed our Ottawa office - but it's good news! This change allows us to offer more options for therapy sessions right here in Almonte.

We currently have availability for both in-person and online sessions. And... our team is growing in May! More info on that coming soon 👀
