It’s Nurses Week, did you know?
I thought I’d share a few things I love about being a nurse, beyond the cute hat of course 😉
I love that nursing is a wide and varied profession. That it's not only the nurse in scrubs at a hospital bedside, offering skilled, compassionate one-on-one care, but that nurses can be found in education, policy, research, leadership, and yes, even in business.
I love that as a community health nurse our “patient” is the community itself.
I love that community health nurses look at the big picture.
The factors that shape health - in all its forms.
The gaps people fall through.
And the hidden strengths in our towns & people that could grow if given the right care.
I love that we wonder, how systems, resources, and connection—or lack of them—affect people’s mental health and wellbeing? And what can be done to support the care of many?
I love to embrace relationship building, collaboration, creative problem solving, evidence-based solutions, and multidisciplinary care.
And I love how we get to put these principals into practice every day through our work here at Trellis.
We’re not just here for individuals, we’re here for the whole. We think about how to build stronger communities. Designing care and services that respond not just to individual needs, but to the well-being of our whole community. Creating opportunities for meaningful connection, conversation, and action.
What this little RN Grad couldn’t have known - but would be so pleased to be part of.
Happy Nurses Week all 🎉
