ANOTHER VICTORY! – ALL CHARGES WITHDRAWN FOR EMPLOYEES OF MI’KMA’KI TRUCKHOUSE IN AMHERST, NOVA SCOTIA

Today in Amherst Provincial Court with Judge Michie presiding, all charges were withdrawn against Erika Nickerson and Micmac Rights Association members Kevin Gloade and Connor Bowser-Knockwood, who pled not guilty to the charges laid against them.

Crown Prosecutor Doug Shatford chose to call no evidence against the accused, and Judge Michie dismissed all charges for "want of prosecution."

Trial for Cody Bowser-Knockwood, the owner of the Mi'kma'ki Truckhouse will continue on February 24 and 25 2026 in Amherst Nova Scotia to hear the Constitutional Challenge raised by Mr. Knockwood to ensure that he can continue to be represented by Chief Del Riley and the Micmac Rights Association legal team in defence of his rights.

Mr. Knockwood said after the hearing, “I’m excited to be making headway in fighting for our rights, and I'm looking forward to keep moving forward on the sovereign path that my ancestors made to provide for ourselves."
