My fourth year as a chair yoga instructor for Keep Well Antigonish 💖
Spring 2023 schedule and information
Keep Well Antigonish will offer a combination of online and in-person classes. The online classes will be on Zoom and the in-person classes will be at the People’s Place Library in the Community Room. All classes are 50 minutes.
Chair Yoga is a modified form of yoga that is practiced while sitting in a chair or standing using the chair for support. The instructor leads participants through stretches and breathing exercises. Online participants should have an armless sturdy chair and room to move comfortably when seated or standing.
General Fitness exercises focus on strength, balance, and flexibility. The instructor leads participants through exercises that can be done with or without weights and that can be modified to suit the participant’s needs. Online participants should have an armless sturdy chair. Small hand weights are optional (hand weights could include household items such as canned goods).
Nia is non-impact movement that has elements of dance, yoga, and Tai Chi. The instructor teaches and leads participants through movement exercises with music. Participants are encouraged to move their bodies in ways that are comfortable to them.

Please note, due to space and instructor availability, the in-person classes will be held only on the dates listed below for each class.

April 14, 28; May 5,19, 26; June 9,16, and 23 (8 weeks)

Registration for all classes is free and open to seniors (55+) in Antigonish Town and County.

Registration will open online on Wednesday, April 5 at 9am. Spaces in the in-person classes are limited. When the class is full, names will be added to a waitlist.

The registration form will not work before Wednesday, April 5 at 9am. At that time, click on the Register button, fill in the required information, and submit your form. Submitting a form does not guarantee that you will be registered for the class(es) you request. You will be contacted within a few days to confirm whether you have been registered and what class(es) you are in.
