Antigonish Women's Resource Centre & Sexual Assault Services Association The Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre (AWRC) is a feminist, community-based women's organization which opened in 1983.

SASA stands for Sexual Assault Services Association. Our centre advocates for the decision-making agency of diverse women, girls, Two-Spirit, trans and non-binary people and challenges all the societal barriers that undermine their choices, freedoms, gifts, and humanity. It is a woman friendly place to access information, to meet other women, to share knowledge, and to work on common interests and for social change. It is a place to learn form each other and to contribute to building a healthy community. Please remember we are a scent free environment.

To kick off Pride Month, St. Francis Xavier University raised the Pride flag on campus yesterday, January 5th. AWRC staff were proud to attend in support and celebration. We’re excited to share that our Men’s Peer Support Group will be starting a six-week session on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This is a safe, welcoming space for men to connect, talk, and support one another. A light meal will be provided at the start, along with snacks and drinks throughout the evening.

There’s no sign-up required — just bring yourself.
This is a judgment-free zone, and everything shared is confidential.
