All Residents Safe - Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home Update, September 6

At approximately 6:25 p.m. this evening, the fire alarm sounded at Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Staff responded immediately, evacuating residents from the affected area of the facility. The situation was resolved quickly, and local emergency services approved re-entry to the building within 30 minutes.

We are grateful to local emergency services, to our staff for their quick actions, and to our residents for their calm cooperation. We also appreciate the concern shown by our community. All families have or will be contacted.

A feel-good Friday moment from Mahone Bay Nursing Home's antique car show earlier this month! 🚗

The Coastal Cruisers Car Club brought some fantastic vehicles out for Residents to view and enjoy - some called it a blast from the past. Thank you to our amazing staff, volunteers, families, and the club for bringing joy and memories to our home.

Congratulations to Colonel John Darrach Murray, a resident of MacLeod Cares Clinton View Lodge, on receiving the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers.

This national honour recognizes Canadians whose passion and dedication have made an exceptional impact in their communities. For over four decades, Colonel Murray has worked to preserve the legacy of veterans through his leadership with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps Atlantic Association and Kensington's Branch #9 of The Royal Canadian Legion. His efforts have created meaningful tributes and memorials that ensure veteran's sacrifices are never forgotten.

We congratulate him on the recognition of his achievements and extend our gratitude for his outstanding contributions to community and our country.
